Module 1: Introduction to Entrepreneurship

Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts, underlying principles,
and core competencies in Entrepreneurship.

Performance Standard: The learner independently creates/provides a quality and marketable


product and/or service in Entrepreneurship as prescribed in the TESDA Training Regulation.

Specific Objectives: At the end of the semester, the students are expected to:
1. Discuss the relevance of the course;
2. Explain the key concepts of common competencies;
3. Explain the core competencies in Entrepreneurship
4. Research on current and relevant job opportunities for entrepreneurship
5. Create/provide a quality and marketable product and/or service in Entrepreneurship as
prescribed in the TESDA Training Regulation.

Fr. Al’s Message:


The golden rule of charity, in a sense, contains all the teaching of the prophets and the law
prepared for the coming of Jesus. If you keep this golden rule, you are truly pleasing to
God, you are a child of God and you are truly a follower of Jesus. (Homily, Undated)

Day 1 and Day 2

A1: General Instruction (Big Group Activity) - 10 minutes

Note: Each Group will be given 10 minutes for the presentation. Five groups will present on day 5
and the remaining groups on day 1. Before the presentation, remind the students that they will be
evaluated using the scoring rubric below. A man who thinks impurely against his neighbor is worse
than its victim. Be careful how think.

A2: Presentation (Small Group Activity) – 80 minutes

A3: Wrap-Up (Big Group Activity) – 10 minutes

Note: Teacher will announce the summary of score of each group. Students will conclude their
innovation of their assigned market.

Day 3

A4: Recap of Previous Discussion (Big Group Activity) - 5 minutes

A5: Research (Small Group Activity) – 45 minutes

Note: The groupings will be based on the Trade Areas of the student. They will conduct a break-out
session. Each will divide further the members of the following tasks:
a. Internet surfing
b. Interview
c. Video viewing and analysis
Use the following guide questions for the research.
1. What are the current local and international career opportunities of your trade area?
2. What is the ideal income of this trade area (local and international)?
3. What are the core services and products that this trade area offers?
4. What are the required legal documents of this trade to start a business?
5. What could be the possible capital needed to start the business with this trade area?

Note: The format of the business career proposal should be given to the students in advance so they can
work outside the classroom and be ready for Day 10 presentations and critiquing. The business career
proposal should be written in bond paper

Day 4 and Day 5

A6: Recap of Previous Discussion (Big Group Activity) - 5 minutes

Note: A is student assigned to give the recap of the previous discussion or activity.

A7: Research Presentation and Critiquing of Business Career Proposal Lecture (Big Group
Activity) – 80 minutes

Note: Use the rubric given in the previous activity for the presentation. After each group presented
their business career proposal, the teacher and other groups are expected to give feedbacks.
