Evidence: Life from a wheelchair

 What does Ashley do for a living?

R/: Ashley sings at certain times of the day and has to leave her bedroom making her leave earlier
than usual.

 How does her condition affect her daily activities and how does she deal with it?

R/: She finds it difficult to type fast, and due to the extreme weather, Ashley requires more time to
be able to go to class in the snow. She, too, has to deal with the guys who look at her with fear,
but she doesn't pay attention to him.

 What is her attitude towards life? Does she feel disabled from certain activities?

R/: His attitude is positive towards life. She feels capable of doing many things that no one would
believe, to show many people that she can.

She feels able to move into her bed. If she did not have that positive attitude towards life, she
would have failed in all the situations that are presented to her on a daily basis. She feels unable
to perform certain activities such as running, not knowing what that feeling is. She would like to
know what it feels like to walk or run. If he hadn't been lucky enough to have her parents by her
side of hers, he wouldn't have been able to learn to do many other things, but that does not
prevent him from showing that he is capable of doing many things.

 How would your life be different if you were handicapped and had to use a wheelchair?
What would be different for you? (Use mixed conditionals in the answer).

R/: My life would be completely different if I did not have my body functioning normally, since in
many aspects of life we have to use our limbs and senses to perform different daily activities. But I
think there are many limitations in our mind, we always have an open mind to learn new things, to
adapt to changes and that nothing affects our determination to move forward.

 How do you react when you have to interact with a handicapped person?

R/: My attitude towards her is totally normal, but at the same time it is also of service, since that
person may need my help at any time and I also try to be empathetic with that person and try to
deny the possible limitations that they have.

 How can you contribute to improve the life of handicapped people?

R/: I can contribute to improve the lives of people with disabilities, with my service in the things
they may need. I can contribute with my emotional support, it is important that you find ways to
enjoy your own life and feel that you can make a significant contribution to the world around you
despite your disability, I also try to help them with things that they need such as shopping or
things that they cannot have easy access.0
