ACTIVITIES
1. Activate prior knowledge by asking pupils for examples of thriller stories they are familiar with
2. Brainstorming the typical features of the thriller genre
Pre Lesson 3. Pupils write words connected with the thriller genre (suspense, thrill,
excitement,scare,anxiety,surprise etc) and share them with others
1, Pupils read the sample story on page 33 and circle the right linkers
2. Discuss and ask pupils to explain their answers
3. Pupils read the story on page 32, to find some vocabulary words, setting and atmosphere
related to the elements of thriller
Lesson Delivery
4. Pupils then refer to activity D, and start writing their draft. (begin or end the story with :
Susan will never forget what happened that day)
5. Pupils check their draft with the teacher and proceed with their story
6. Pupils will complete their story at home.
Post Lesson 1. Demonstrate on board the exciting opening line to a thriller story
2. Pupils share their opening lines on board and teacher will choose the most interesting line
