Remote Learning Packet


All Assignments for May 4- May 8

Subject Assignments see remote learning folders in Schoology in each subject


for more detailed descriptions of each assignment

• Read for pleasure for 30 minutes each day! This should be a book of your
choice (other than the reading assignments below).

• Find an unused side of a posterboard, large piece of cardboard, or neatly


glue 4-8 pieces of paper together to make a poster. It can be any color.
Upcycled and reused is perfect for this project! You can even paint it!
Language • Sketch out what your game will look like on a regular sized piece of scrap
Arts paper. Keep this paper safe. Make a final colored copy of this drawing on
your game poster after your game is built. (You might want to wait to
complete this step until the game is actually built.)

• Submit your game directions in Schoology using the Google Doc template.
Most sections should be written in complete sentences. Remember to
submit when finished! See provided examples.

• Create 15 math problems that focus on a variety of long multiplication and


long division skills. Incorporate a variety of problem types, for example:
multiple choice, true/false, matching, multi-step, word problems, etc.
Math • Create an answer key now, as you create each problem, or you can create
an answer key next week for all the problems.
• Use some of your Math time to work on building your game.

• Watch hydro energy video and read hydro energy article. From the video
and article, write 2-3 hydro energy facts in Science journal or on scrap
Science paper to be saved and used later.
• Build your game using materials around your house. Reduce, Reuse,
Recycle! Be creative!

• Watch lesson: "Four Factors of Production."


• Watch lesson: "Supply and Demand."
Social • In the Social Studies journal, identify the four factors
Studies of production of your game (land, labor, capital, entrepreneurship)
in your journal.

Helpful Hints for Your Work - Week 6
General:
• A special directions document is located at the top of every subject’s Must Do folder.
Please take time to read this before beginning all work. Refer back to this when you
have a question. Email teachers with questions after you have read this page.
• Open 2 tabs in Schoology: one for the Directions Page and one for the assignment.
• Be sure to click the “full screen” square for Schoology links before you start anything!
• Below is a reminder of what your final product poster should look like. You will be
working on this for the next 2 weeks. You'll only be working on Section 2 this week.

Science:
• Remember to use materials around your house when building your game.
You do not need to go to the store. We can't wait to see what you upcycle!

Language Arts:
• Everything is located in the Reading Course in Schoology.
• If an item isn’t hyperlinked on the Directions page, it will be in the Must Do folder.
• Remember to submit your game directions after you finish.

Math:
• Your information for this week is in the “Week 6” folder on Schoology.
• Be sure to watch this week’s screencastify video first to understand the requirements
for this week. Reminder: you may either create your answer key as you go, or you can
create your answer key next week during the final week of the project!

Social Studies:
• You are welcome to watch help videos as often as you’d like!
• When you write your the factors of production in your journal, do a quick re-watch of
Mrs. Marketos' lesson and look at her slides for the lemonade stand.
