D. ABSTRACTION
Critical Thinking is the analysis of facts to form a judgment. The
subject is complex, and several different definitions exist, which generally
include the rational, skeptical, unbiased analysis, or evaluation of factual
evidence.
Example:
A person trying to interpret an angry friend's needs, expressed
through a rush of emotion and snide comments, to give that friend some
help and support.
Public Speaking is giving speech face to face to a live audience.
However, due to the evolution of public speaking, it is modernly viewed
as any form of speaking between an audience and the speaker.
Traditionally, public speaking was considered to be a part of the art of
persuasion.
Example:
Two adversarial lawyers arguing points of law before a jury is
an example of public speaking at its best. Citizens are asked
to determine guilt or innocence based on the effectiveness of
the speakers and their arguments. In fact, people make
important decisions every day based on a speaker’s skill in
communicating.
