ACTIVITY 1
Activity 1.1
Direction: Identify the following concept of communication.
Communication 1. A two-way process by which information is exchanged between and
among individuals through a common system of symbols, signs and
behaviour (Martinez 1).
Verbal
Communication 2. It refers to the form of communication in which message is
transmitted verbally.
Nonverbal
Communication The sending or receiving of wordless messages.
Informal Setting 4. The type of communication that deals in chats and conversations.
Sender /Encoder 5. He decides on the message to be sent, the best/most effective way that
it can be sent.
Chanel 6. He is responsible for the delivery of the chosen message form.
Repetition 7. It is the role under non-verbal communication that can repeat the
message the person is making verbally.
Substitution 8. It is the role under non-verbal communication that can substitute for a
verbal message.
Noise 9. It is anything that gets in the way of the message being accurately
received, interpreted and responded to.
Creation 10. The forming the communicative intent where the sender generates an
idea.
Activity 1.2
Direction: Match the items in column A to their descriptions in column B. write only the

Activity 2.1
Direction: Modified true or false. Write PAK if the statement is true and if the statement is

PAK 1. Speech communication begins with a speaker.


SYSTEMATIC 2. Models are symbolic representations of structures and objects or

a better and more convincing communicator.
OSGOOD-SCHRAMM MODEL 8. Interactive Model builds on circular models by
explaining how we improve our messages over time by using feedback. When we communicate
with others, their feedback will influence our next statement.
PAK 9. Communication models are systematic representations of the process
which helps in understanding how communication works can be done.
Shannon-Weaver Model 10. Transactional model is also called as
mathematical model of
communication.
Reciever 11. Speaker is the person who receives the communicated message.
Interactive Model of Communication 12. Aristotle model of communication is preferably relevant
for the mass media.
PAK 13. Methods and channels of communication to be used and the purpose of
communication, must be considered before choosing a specific
communication model.
PAK 14. explores communication that is equal and reciprocal.

up-bringing and relational context (relationships).
