Reflecting back at Black History Month, we have had

some great things going on in the Loy Norrix Virtual Black History month
classroom. We started off with a painting party and a virtual tour of the
National Museum of African American History and Culture. Students we
able to participate in African dances with dance instructor Heather
Mitchell, all while building a resume of experiences. This past week we
held a Black Lives Matter week of social media week of action with so
many great posts. In the final week of black history month, we will with
Chef Kharen Shelton and some of her students in cooking
demonstrations and also have a community panel discussion. If your
students haven’t been participating with our Black History Month virtual
celebration, it isn’t too late. The classroom code is “prgpmeh”.

Abraham Konjoh competed in a pole vaulting competition at Landon

Athletics. After all the time and hard work he put in, he finally cleared 13 feet in
competition. That would have been impressive by itself. However, he went on to
clear 14 feet and took 3rd place overall. Although that mark was not done in
season, it would put him in the top ten pole vaulters of Loy Norrix all time. He is
really setting himself up for a great outdoor track season if we have one this year.

The parents of the Class of 2021 are fundraising in order to provide something
special to our graduating Seniors in lieu of the traditional Grad Bash celebrations.
Grad Bash is a post-graduation celebration following the graduation ceremony at an undisclosed location. For the safety and
health of our students, Loy Norrix High School has opted to look at different ways to provide our Seniors a lasting mark on their
student career. Thank you for your time and consideration in supporting our graduates.
 Electronic payments payable via REVTRAK: http://bit.ly/NorrixGrads2021
 Checks made payable to: Loy Norrix High School (mention Grad Bash in the memo) They can be mailed or dropped off

school year. Students will be given a link to the district
course bulletin, and they should review their transcript to
assist in the selection of courses in HAC.
The course selection window in HAC will open for all
students on Monday February 15, 2021. Counselors will be Join us for the
