Goal 1: Professional Knowledge
Goal:

Rationale:
I need to practise and improve
my skills in relation to identifying
the need for differentiation for
students in mainstream schools.
My previous placement took
place at a school where all
students had Individual
Education Plans, and as such,
differentiation strategies for each
student were either quite clear,
or provided to me.
Goal 2: Professional Practice
Goal:
To be able to integrate strategies
for providing appropriate feedback
to students on their learning in an
effective and timely manner.
Focus area:
5.2 Provide feedback to students
on their learning.
Descriptor:
Demonstrate an understanding of

During week one, I will
observe and make notes on
classes which have students
with a notably varied range of
learning abilities, which I will
then discuss with my
Supervising Teacher (ST). I
will work with my ST to
prepare lesson plans which
identify the quantity of teaching
strategies needed as well as
those that are appropriate for
differentiated classes.
During weeks two to six, I will
deliver the lesson plans and
make my own observations as
to whether the lessons have
been effective. I will then
discuss this with my ST along
with any feedback they have
from their observations. From
this, I will make any
amendments necessary to my
weekly lesson plans.
At the end of placement, I will
have a final discussion with my
ST regarding the effectiveness
of my lesson plans and
examine further work samples
as needed.
During week one, I will

instances where appropriate
feedback has been provided
within a lesson. I will then
discuss my observations with
my ST and identify how I could
incorporate feedback within my
lessons.

Rationale:
I would like to improve my skills
in providing feedback to students
within a larger class. My previous
placement had a small class
cohort, and as such, I would like
to assess my feedback skills
within a mainstream school
setting in order to ensure that

order to improve my own teaching
practice.

Rationale:
I benefitted immensely from
discussions with my ST and
other teachers throughout my
first placement. However, many
of these were in relation to
behaviour management. Whilst I
believe this area is important to
discuss, I will be in a mainstream
school for my EPT329 placement
and as such, I will likely have
increased opportunities to
take note of any instances
where I have had the
opportunity to provide
feedback, then record samples
of these for evidence.
Each week, I will have a

ST in order to get feedback on
how well I integrated providing
feedback within lessons.
