Guihulngan City, a city composed of 33 Barangays and is known for being one of the most

populous cities in Negros Oriental. The land of Guihulngan was never known for its beautiful
places not until today’s time. Come and let’s take a glimpse of the Beauty, talent, and places of
Guihulngan City and the Guihulnganons.

Known as the little Chocolate Hills of Negros Island, Hinakpan Hills has captured the eyes of
local travelers. Hinakpan Hills or Hinakpan Chocolate Hills is situated in Brgy
Hinakpan,Guihulngan, around 30 minutes away from Guihulngan town proper by a motorbike.
Approximately 237 hills are being distributed to the barangay. It is a perfect place to unwind,
relax and meditate without worrying that it might cause you too much. You do not need to worry
of the entrance fee because it is free for the public.
Along with Hinakpan Hills is the well known cross at the top of a hill called the, "MONTE
CALVARIO" of Our Lady of Lourdes Mission Station. A newly constructed cross which
signifies the devotion of the Guihulnganons to God. It Is a perfect place to reflect and to
appreciate God’s gift called Nature.
Another stop which is perfect for summer is the Kansalakan Enchanted River, the river is known
for it’s rare and jaw-dropping view. The trees surrounding the River makes the color of its water
turn into green which had captured the eyes of many travelers as well as those who are very
much fond of relaxing with Nature.  The river is situated between the villages of Banwague and
Balogo in the highland of Guihulngan City, approximately 137 kilometers away from
Kansalakan Enchanted
Dumaguete City and 100 kilometers away from Bacolod.
River features a deep and clean river with small cascades and circular
holes.  The river is easily accessible as it crosses the main road of the
village, making it a popular bathing and cliff jumping site for locals.

*Aside from the places and encounter with nature, the people itself
has more to offer, from beauty pageants to unique talents.
It has been a tradition for the Guihulnganons to celebrate the City
Fiestival that includes beauty pageant. The pageant is at times is
inspired by the unique landmark of Guihulngan Which is the CaraBell.
The unique landmark is a combination of a carabao having a bell on
the top of it’s head.
Talents~ Guihulngan is not only a place for relaxation but is also a
place for entertainment. The Guihulngan Blaze Fire Dancers have
been known for giving a unique performance and dance using fire.

The City is open for tourist but is expecting everyone to be responsible

enough most specially in this time of pandemic. It is good that we
travel, relax and meditate but it is also a must to be responsible within
ourselves.
