BASIC COMPETENCE
Using different kinds of Prepositions for different functions at different levels of grammatical
units in phrase constructions and in clause constructions.

2. Doing various kinds of related exercises from the textbook (Modern English, chapter. 8).

1. Students are able to understand the concepts and the functions of Prepositions in
various constructions of phrases, clauses, sentences, or utterances.
2. Students are able to use correctly and appropriately different forms and functions of
Prepositions according to the contexts they are used.

Pre Activity (15’):
1. The lecturer greets the students and opens the course
2. The lecturer reviews the previous lesson
3. The lecturer explains today’scourse objectives.

Main Activity (65’):


1. The lecturer asks the students to watch a video about Prepositions and identify them
2. The lecturer explain briefly about Prepositions
3. The lecturer gives the students written material about Prepositions(:Function,
Forms,Position of the Prepositions
4. The lecturer asks the students to discuss the material they have in groups of 4
5. The lecturer ask the students some questions about prepositions orally to check their
understanding after reading and discussing the material.
6. The lecturer ask the students to do exercises in Marcella Frank’s book, chapter 8.
7. The lecturer check the students work
Post Activity (10):
1. The lecturer sums up today’s lesson and activity
2. The lecturer gives assignment for the next meeting
