Artistic Literacy is the knowledge and understanding required to participate authentically

in the arts. Creativity is the process of having original ideas that have value.

Literature is a subject that leans more toward academic ability, giving equal weight to the arts
will facilitate learning toward stimulating curiosity among learners. This will awaken and develop
powers of creativity among learners; and view intelligence as diverse, dynamic, and distinct,
contrary to the common belief that it should be academic ability-geared.

I recall some of the creative classroom activities I had in school. I innovate some of it to appeal
more artistic and to fit in with my topic. This is my way of being creative, I look at someone’s
work and took it as an inspiration, and see how can I improve it to make it my style.

In these activities, students can use their minds in verbal and nonverbal ways, Communicate
complex ideas in a variety of forms. Students would be able to understand words, sounds, or
images and Imagine new possibilities; and   Persevere to reach goals and make them happen.

These are the best activities to create an active or student-centered learning environment.
These activities are structured so that students can begin to think like an artist.

I. Create a storybook out of your own authorship/content, illustration, and structure. Any
available or accessible platform may be used. All five areas of the plot (exposition, rising action,
climax, falling action, and resolution) are present and are developed. Three different literary
devices are used in the work.

II. Retention Map. Create a visual material that synthesizes the lesson using the template
provided. The structure and design of this material are based on your understanding and
personal learning insights. Be creative!

III. Create a collage that summarizes the key points of the lesson. See to it that the most
significant details shall be included. You may utilize any platform available and the material itself
may be in a word document or even jpeg (photo)

IV. Creating a Movie Poster. Students must work in pairs to create their movie poster of one of
the topics assigned to them. Every detail of the movie poster should identify and depict the main
theme and the story’s major plot while looking iconic. The movie poster must have its title
different from the original title, a movie tagline (a short text that serves to clarify an idea for or is
designed with a dramatic effect), and local artists who best portray the characters.

V. Designing your character. You may draw any character you want to be or the one that suits
your personality.

All children are born artists. The problem is to remain as an artist as we grow up -
