Sacheen Cabin Addition Project

Reason for project.

Our cabin had a 6-foot by 8-foot bathroom

which was too small for our families. So, this
project was undertaken to enlarge and allow for
more people to use it.

Purpose of this report,

To see where we have been and where we

need to get to on this project. We started this
project in March of 2020 with the design and
digging basement.

This report was written on May 19, 2021

March 2020

 We did a quick plan and started digging for the foundation.

April 2020

 We set the piers, foundation support, and the floor on the first weekend.
 The second weekend we were able to raise the external walls.
 The third weekend we were able to finish the roof.
 The next weekend we did the sheeting on the sides.

May 2020

 We worked only the first weekend and finished the interior walls.
 We also finished the sheeting on the front.

June 2020

 We installed the windows first.

 Plumbing was several weeks to get all hooked up.
 The electricity took a month and a half.

July 2020

 The shower took about a month and a half.

August and September 2020

 We spent most of August and into September tiling the shower and the toilet area.

October 2020

 Before we closed the cabin for the winter, we demolished

  We started our demo and pocket doors for the bedrooms.

April 2021

 Flooring started.

May 2021

 Cabinets started.
 Finish work and trim is started.

Problems that we have encountered.

Bathroom vanity with
1. Winter shut down was expected but has put us back more than we thought. quartz top.
2. Spring start up took longer than we thought.
3. The distance from hardware stores was a limiting factor.

Work that still needs to be completed.

 Need to finish floors.

 Cabinet doors need to be installed and handles put on.
 Several places the trim molding needs to be completed.

Conclusion

This project has run without many delays. We were able complete things ahead of our planned completion date of fall of 2021. The
bathroom is usable now and everyone is very happy with what has been done.

Recommendation

We will be able to finish this in the next couple of weeks. Our biggest problem is finishing this while everyone is using the bathroom.
