9. ALUMINUIM, GLAZING AND METAL WORKS

9.01 METAL WORKS :

9.01.1 Aluminum:
In General, all aluminum used should be “Powder Coated” aluminum, finished to
Engineer’s approval unless otherwise noted on Drawings.

For anodized sections if any the anodization thickness should be minimum 80

microns and Contractor should submit samples and certificates for Engineer's
approval.

AII aluminum workmanship and quality should be according to the General

Specifications. The ironmongery on aluminum works should be approved by
Engineer before installation and manufacture for type and color.

9.01.2 Aluminum Handrails:

Pre-Cast Aluminum handrails should be matching with overall aluminum finishes used
in the building and should be fixed so it can withstand loads applied to it in regular
use (i.e. 100 Kg/RM at top rail applied latterly) the Contractor should supply samples
for Engineer's approval for all typical handrails and installations.

9.01.3 Aluminum Louvered Doors and Panels:

The aluminum doors and louvers should be following the same specification
mentioned above and should be manufactured so it functions efficiently in the place
it is used. The louvers should be tightly secured so they do not rattle or vibrate by
wind. The Contractor should submit sample panels and Doors complete with
aluminum hinges and handles for Engineer's approval before commencing
manufacture.
