Subject : APPLICATION TO OFFER SPFL-JAPANESE

The Department of Education (DepEd), through the Bureau of Curriculum

Development - Special Curricular Programs Division (BCD-SCPD), shall
accept applications to interested public secondary schools to offer the Special
Program in Foreign Language-Japanese (SPFL-Japanese). The focus is to
train the qualified teachers of Batch 6 for three (3) summers and three (3)
follow-through training sessions from June to March each year to be
conducted by The Japan Foundation Manila (JFM). It is an extensive language
training course in the Philippines through JFM, including review courses for
the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). It also provides an avenue to
become proficient in Nihongo and to promote mutual understanding and
cultural exchange between Japan and Philippines.

The basic requirements to be submitted by the school principal are the

following:
1. Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the teacher-trainee
2. Letter of Intent addressed to the BCD Director Jocelyn DR Andaya
3. Number of Junior High School students interested in the program
4. Number of Target Classes per grade level
5. Number of Candidate Teachers to undergo the SPFL-Japanese training
6. For the Teacher-Candidate: Briefly enumerate what can you
contribute to the program once accepted?

In addition, a pre-selection of the teachers shall be in accordance with DepEd
Order No. 68, s. 2009. A contract stating that the teacher shall stay in the
program shall be signed by both the Principal and SPFL-Japanese teacher.

All requirements must be submitted on or before May 28, 2021 through email
at riza.gusano@deped.gov.ph /josephine.intino@deped.gov.ph and or carbon
