System Purpose and Scope

1. SYSTEM PURPOSE

1.1 This O & M Manual is to describe the step by step procedure of operational and
Maintenance of Pneumatic tube system is carried out for Sheikh Khalifa Central
Hospital project.
1.2 The purpose of this procedure is to provide a step by step of procedure of operation
and Maintenance of Pneumatic tube system through the guidelines contained herein so
as to ensure that job execution complies with the project requirements and serves the
intended function to satisfactory level.

2. SCOPE OF WORK

1. This O and M Manual covers the procedure of Operation and Maintenance for Pneumatic
tube system for Sheikh Khalifa Central Hospital project.
2. This is to be enhanced and developed by the Al Mazroui Medical & chemical supplies
with the help of O&M manual provided by Sumetzberger

3. This procedure will be adopted from the Pneumatic tube system O and M manual on this
project.

Pneumatic tube system:

All Operation and Maintenance of Pneumatic tube system will be carried out by Al
Mazroui Medical& chemical supplies.
 Description
A TUBE POST SYSTEM is a network of pipes and stations. Pipes are paths and stations are nodes
building the whole system. You may enter a CARRIER in a STATION and send it to another one. The
process of sending a carrier between stations is called TRANSIT.

Carrier is a cylindrical container (plastic or metallic). Carrier may be loaded with everything what doesn’t
damage it and isn’t too heavy (does not exceed the weight limit of the system).

Station lets dispatch and receive carriers. Almost all station types are equipped with display and
keyboard. Depending on station type the carrier can be dispatched from above, frontal or from below.
