Name of Activity : Solar Panel Familiarization, Installation and Hand-s On Training

Participants : 20 persons recommended by the Brgy. Captain

II. RATIONALE

This project is a community extension venture that will benefit the residents of: Angat Buhay
Village in Lupi Camarines Sur. The College of Engineering & Architecture, ME Department will
sponsor training on the basic concepts on Solar Panel through Technical Information including
installation. Likewise, this project intends to strengthen Community Social Responsibility of
the UNC by providing free training to those who need the most and wanted to upgrade their
technical skills.

III. OBJECTIVE

This proposed activity principally aims to provide the beneficiaries the basic skills in Solar
Installation and provide more career opportunities for them. Also, this project seeks to:
 Sharing knowledge and skills through technical information and a hands – on
training for Solar Panel;
 Make a positive impact to the lives of both the beneficiaries and benefactors
which will, consequently, strengthen the community
 Gain a greater understanding of the roles of Mechanical Engineers in the society,
as well as the impact of their contributions to the society

IV. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Training on Solar Panel Installation is a Project of the Mechanical Engineering Department
for the second semester, academic year 2020 – 2021.
The project will involve the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers Student Unit – UNC
(PSME Student Unit-UNC), all ME faculty members in cooperation with the College of
Engineering and Architecture, and UNC ICES. The training will be facilitated by ME faculty who
has an experience on Solar installation.

The training will be held on May 29 and June 5 ,2021 at 8:00-12:00 noon
