Statement of Purpose
My dad is a professor at a University in Nepal and my mom is a housewife. As an elder son, I
have been influenced from my mom in the way she made sumptuous food. I used to help her
from my early childhood in her kitchen works. After completing higher education in hotel
management, I decided to join undergraduate course in Hospitality Management at Silver
Mountain School of Hotel Management affiliated to Queen Margaret University, UK.

During my undergraduate studies at Silver Mountain, I underwent an industrial exposure training

for six months at Vivanta by Taj Hotels and Palaces, Whitefield, India where I managed to
accure most of the etiquettes needed for the hospitality industry. After graduation, I interned at
Hyatt Regency, Dubai for 1 year as an operation trainee and then continued to work as a full-
time employee for one more year. I worked at Food and Beverages (F&B) department. As a
result, I have a good understanding of working at highly reputed hotel chain in different
countries. In addition to this, I had colleagues from Philippines, India, China, Ukraine, Syria,
Egypt, Germany, Taiwan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. I have an ability to work with
people from different cultures and background. During my work at Hyatt, I got an opportunity to
interact with guests from various nationalities as a part of my work. I have interacted with guests
from the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Argentina and many more. I have a good knack for
learning from guests and implementing it my real life.

Nepal is a small poor country situated between India, and China. The government has identified
Tourism and Hotel management sector as only a ticket to the way for development. If only a
small portion of these three billion population from India and China manage to visit Nepal, it
won’t take much time for Nepal to register its name in the category of the developing countries.
However, there is a huge lack of qualified professionals in the tourism and the hotel management
sector. After graduating from University of people, I will like to devote in the development of
Nepal by working in the tourism/hospitality services sector. Thus, getting an MBA in the sector
is very much important to me.
As being from and developing nation and current covid-19 has badly affected the situation of me.
As per the current situation and nationwide lockdown I am unable to pay the application fee for
the admission. If I will be provided the application fee waiver for MBA, It will lead me to
expand my career horizons and provide me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and skill.
Looking for Positive response from your side.

Sincerely,
Chandra Suvedi
