Title: Germination

Aim: To determine the conditions necessary for germination.

Apparatus and Material: beans, small cups, paper towel, water, tape

Procedure:

1. Collect 5 plastic cups of same size and label them A-E

2. Add paper towel to the base of each cups.
3. Add equal volumes of tap water to A, B, C for D add the same volume of boiled (cool water
before adding) water. Leave cup E dry.
4. Add 5 beans to each cups.
5. Add a film of paraffin over the water in cup D.
6. Place cup A, D and E in a well-lit area
7. Place cup B in the refrigerator
8. Place cup C in a dark cupboard
