1. From each change perspective, what are the key issues to
understanding the wildcat strike?
Organization
Development

2. Assume that you have been retained as a change consultant
by BA management to advice them on how to avoid such a
situation in the future. What lessons emerge from each
perspective and what recommendations would you draw from
each in constructing core advice to BA management? If
appropriate, role-play the presentation of this advice to senior
management of BA.
Organizational
Development
o They
should
spread
the
information
properly,
spread
out
in
the
whole
company
o Every
proposed
change
policy
should
be
communicated
to
the
workers
themselves
o They
should
let
the
workers
participate
to
change
their
attitude
and
behavior
Sense-‐making
m
er as
o The
management
should
be
aware
of
the
key
elements
o They
have
to
listen
to
their
workers
especially
the
women
because
the
biggest
co

problem
was
that
they
were
distressed
by
the
planned
modifications
in
the
working
pattern.
For
them
it
is
really
important
to
have
a
good
balance

Contingency

3. Is there one change perspective, or a combination of change
perspectives, that provides the best way of understanding the
swipe card issues? Why?
A
combination
of
all
the
different
perspectives
would
be
the
best
solution
in
our
opinion.
Not
only
one.
We
need
a
problem-‐solving
perspective
and
find
the
reasons
of
the
problems.
4. What broad conclusions emerge from this analysis?
To
conclude
this
case
study,
I
think
in
this
case
of
BA
there
is
a
lack
of
communication.
And
as
we
learned
communication
is
everything
in
an
organization.
They
should
find
new
strategies
for
change
management.
And
for
the
next
changes
they
m
er as
should
first
of
all
analyze
all
the
possible
consequences
before
introducing
the
change
to
the
co
whole
company.
