Checklist –

Exterior

1.       Check for excessive bulging, tilting of facia panels.

2.       Check for any visible evidences of water leaking through facia panels in form of mud
marks or the growth of plants.
3.       Check for signs of distress in the deck slab.

Interior

1.       Confirm whether granular aggregates are present behind facia & check whether finers
soil particles are present in it leading to clogging the filter.
2.       Check whether geotextile membrane is provided between facia & backfilled soil.
3.       Check the connector between reinforcement & facia for any possible corrosion or
weakness.
4.       Check overall drainage system & possibility of rainwater from deck entering in the soil
below. 

Things to ask for

1.       Design of RE wall

2.       Drawings of RE wall
3.       Soil testing report of
         soil from RE wall – For inspection report
         possible borrow pit location – for further design of repairing scheme
4.       sample of reinforcing material.
