CONCEPCION, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL

I.                   Introduction
Dressmaking is defined as the craft of sewing clothes and dresses. It is the
activity or job of making clothes for women or girls. It is the fundamental principles of pattern
drafting interpreting of design and pattern construction and it deals on the study and application
of fabric, pattern lay-out, cutting and making of cloth as preliminaries to the assembling
processes of constructing simple garments.

II.                Objectives

1. Plan garment design of casual apparel

2. Take body measurements of client

3. Draft and manipulates basic pattern

4. Cut final pattern of casual apparel

5. Lay-out and pins patterns according to the grain line of the fabric

6. Trace drafted pattern on the material/fabric

7. Cut final pattern

8. Trace drafted pattern on the material/fabric

9. Cut fabrics with allowance

10. Set-up and adjust sewing machine for desires stitch formation and tension

11. Check garment parts completeness

12. Apply finishing touches on the casual apparel

13. Trim excess threads of casual apparel

14. Press finished casual apparel

15. Pack the finished garment

1.      No major problems encountered during training except some participants
did not come on time of training due to distance matter and sometimes power
interruption occur.
