LEARNING After completing this project, the students should be able to:
OUTCOME 1. Analyse the construction drawing.
2. Produce the measurement for building works.
3. Identify the types of cost for unit rates.
4. Calculate cost for overhead and profit.
5. Identify construction materials used in each work.
Calculate unit rate based on excavation, concrete, formwork,
reinforcement, brickworks and roof.

INSTRUCTION Answer all questions.

DESCRIPTION:
A single-storey lot house is going to be built for Mr. Ali Bin Abu in Parit Raja.
The owner of the house has hired you to build the house according to the
construction drawings attached. As the contractor, you are required to measure
the quantity of the project and define the bill of quantity to get the cost project.
You are advised to follow the procedures given.

Procedures:

Part A
Define item used in the construction. Based on units for each item, entered the
value and determine the quantity by using dimension paper. Measure the
quantities for following items:

Element 1 Piling
Element 2 Work below Lowest Floor Finish
Element 3 Frame
Element 4 Roof
Element 5 Brickwork
Element 6 Doors
Element 7 Windows
Element 8 Wall

(Refer to Attachments and drawings)

PART B
By using the quantities measured in Part A:
i. prepare the Bill of Quantity (computerize/Hand Writing)
ii. summarize the project cost (handwriting in form given)
iii. identified the total cost of project (summary form)

PART C
By using the quantities measured in Part A and B:
i. calculate the company profit
ii. calculate the unit rate for excavation, concrete, formwork,
reinforcement, brickworks and roof

SUBMISSION:
Please submit the complete project in a file which containing the following
items:
i. Taking Off (Dimension Paper)
ii. Bill of Quantity
iii. Summary
iv. Profit
v. Build Up rate
