Unit 3

1. What are the three parts of the nervous system and why they are important?
R: The central nervous system is made up of the brain and spinal cord. The
peripheral nervous system is made up of all the nerves that branch from the spinal
cord and extend to all parts of the body

2. How does the nervous system work?

R: The nervous system transmits signals between the brain and the rest of the body,
including internal organs. In this way, the activity of the nervous system controls the
ability to move, breathe, see, think, and more. The basic unit of the nervous system
is a nerve cell, or neuron.

3. How can we keep a healthy nervous system?

R: 1: Don't suffer unnecessarily. Don't rust. ...
2: Get plenty of rest, and try to nap. ...
3: Move, walk. ...
4: Make the purchase right. ...
5: Avoid toxic relationships.
6: Don't smoke.
7: Moderate your alcohol intake. ...
8: Watch your blood pressure and your heart, that it does not beat more than
necessary

4. What are the sense organs and what is the work that each one of them does?
R: The human being has five sense organs: the skin, which allows touch; the eyes,
which provide sight; the ears, which in addition to capturing sounds control balance;
the nose, through which smells are perceived; and, the tongue, with which flavors
are distinguished with the sense of taste

5. How can we keep healthy sense organs?

R: Avoid consuming very hot or cold foods or drinks, which can damage the taste
buds. Brush your teeth after meals and also clean your tongue. Avoid the
consumption of highly seasoned foods (spicy, salty, etc.).

6. What is the main function of the nerves?

R: The nervous system is one of the most important and complex systems in the
human body. It has multiple functions, including receiving and processing all the
information that comes from both inside the body and the environment, in order to
regulate the functioning of the other organs and systems.

7. What is the musculoskeletal system?

R: The musculoskeletal system provides shape, stability, and movement to the
human body. It is made up of the body's bones (which make up the skeleton),
muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, cartilage, and other types of connective tissue.

8. How do the joints work?

R: Joints allow our body to be flexible. They are made of an elastic tissue called
cartilage that covers and protects the ends of the bones from friction. Despite its
resistance, it is exposed to inflammations, injuries and damages that can limit our
activity.

9. How can we keep a healthy musculoskeletal system?

R: 1: Avoid excess fats in the diet, these can cause overweight and affect muscles and
bones.
2: Exercise regularly, this helps the muscles to gain volume, elasticity and strength.
3: Stretch your muscles before and after exercise.
