PART B)THE CONTRACT AGREEMENT

The agreement signed between CHEMOLABEQUIP ENTERPRISE P.0 B0X 61815 -00200
NAIROBI and MBUGRA SECSECSCHOOL for the completion of Science Laboratory

Part (1) Terms :

CHEMOLABEQUIP ENTERPRISE means ‘’contractor’’

MBUGRA SECONDARY SCHOOL means client or ‘’employer’’

Contract means Works or fitting and installation of the science laboratory.

WORK PLAN FOR COMPLETION OF THE SCIENCE LABORATORY

Part (2) Completion of the science laboratory will involve:

i. Installation of the gas system in the laboratory and the gas source and storage.
ii. Fitting the gas taps and water taps on the benches and ensuring they are in proper
working condition.
iii. Tiling of the bench tops acid resistant.
iv. Fitting of sinks and waste water system.
v. Painting of the frames of the benches.
vi. Fitting of the shelves under worktops and in the rooms
vii. Repairing and Painting of the external and internal

Part (3): Payments and Warranty

The total value of the works is Kshs 810365(eight hundred and ten thousand three hndred
and sixty five)

i. The work shall start when materials shall be delivered on site.

ii. The work is expected to take 10 days.
iii. The work will be done over the weekends and even late in the night depending on the
weather of the day.
 iv. The bills of quanties will be as spelt out in the bills of quantities document without
alterations .
v. The materials onsite and safety of the workers is entirely responsibility of
CHEMOLABEQUIP ENTERPRISE. Their loss and or injury is a responsibility of the
contractor.
vi. When works begin 30% of the total value of the contract shall be paid to the
contractor.( equivalent to Kshs. 243110)
vii. As work progresses there will be another payment of 40% (equivalent to Kshs.324146).
This will be after 5 days of the work .
viii. The remaining 30% (equivalent to Kshs.243110) shall be paid on completion and
handover of the work
ix. The school shall be required to report any fault, leakages and or any works seems to be
improperly done within a period of six months of use. These shall be fixed at the
contractors cost.
x. This contract is legal and binding and will be witnessed by the chairman of the project
and secretary of the employer and the director and the supervisor of the contractor.

WORK PLAN FOR COMPLETION OF SCIENCE LABORATORY POWO SEC SCHOOL

The works will start by erection of metallic frames .This may take a period of 5 days .
During this period there will also gas fitting. This is expected to be completed within 3 days.

Fixing and fitting of bench tops formica white acid proof.

Water, waste water, gas system fittings shall also begin with digging of tunnels and laying of
pipes.

Completion of gas and water system installation.
