A. Introduction:
This module involves the skills and knowledge and attitudes required to carry out basic servicing and maintenance of a light vehicle such as cleaning the vehicle. It also
includes the action to implement the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications for routine checks and maintenance and that the vehicle is operational to the requirements of both the
Workplace and the relevant road and traffic authority.
A good Driver must know how to maintain vehicle cleanliness; A professional driver must know how to check a vehicle before and after operation. A reliable driver must
knowledgeable on basic trouble shooting of a vehicle.
A road worthy vehicle is drivers/owners responsibility. A professional driver who doesn’t clean a vehicle demerit his or her status as a good driver. A driver who doesn’t
maintain vehicles good running condition causes engine breakdown, and failure of its components. It will Affect vehicle performance and fuel consumption that may result in
costly repairs In future and unwanted untoward incident to the driver and passenger as well as other motorist and pedestrians.
