Lesson aims: - to teach vocabulary related to minor illnesses and health remedies
- to present the topic creatively
- to present and provide practice of new vocabulary
- to develop listening skills
Lesson objectives:
Cognitive objectives: by the end of the lesson students will be able:
- to understand language related to illnesses
- to use the vocabulary related to minor illnesses and health remedies
- to have short conversations related to the topic
- to understand the reading and listening material
Affective objectives:
- to create a warm atmosphere for learning
- to give students an active role in the process of learning
- to create interest in the topic
- to make students confident when speaking English

healthy food and drink and some of the vocabulary about illnesses.

Activity 1. Warm up: Greetings, checking the attendance and homework


Aims: - to create a pleasant atmosphere for the English class;
- to check attendance and the accomplishment of the taught items
- to help Ss feel relaxed
- to check if they have any problems with their homework and correct if
necessary
Procedure: T. Asks Ss “How are you today?”, “Is anybody absent? “ - absents noted in
catalogue.
“ Are you ready to start this English class?”
T. asks Ss what their homework was;
Ss read their homework and T corrects if necessary (Make a Healthy Eating
Pyramid in your notebooks)

Activity 2: Lead- in
Aims: - to attract students’ attention on the lesson

Procedure: - The teacher shows the Healthy Eating Pyramid worksheet and asks Ss’ to
imagine what will happen if they eat too much unhealthy food

- to enlarge students’ knowledge about illnesses
Procedure: - T asks Ss: What’s wrong with the characters in their books? – T presents new
vocabulary using the photos of the course book
- Ss answer T’s question
- T introduces the reading material by asking: Can we find any medicine in the
kitchen?
- Ss answer questions related to the text on P 100 “Medicine in the kitchen”

have just seen on the screen
- T controls the exercises then asks Ss to act out dialogues.
