Circular No.: AGCSH/P/11

Dated: 10/08/2021

Dear Parents

CISCE in its letter dated 06th August 2021 has announced that “In addition to reduction of Syllabus at the ICSE
(Class X) and ISC (Class XII) levels, the CISCE will follow a different method of conducting Examinations for
the Academic Year 2021-22. The Academic Session 2021-22 will be divided into TWO Semesters, with
approximately 50% of the syllabus being covered in each Semester. The first Semester Examination will be
conducted in November 2021. This will be an MCQ based examination. The second Semester Examination will
be conducted in March/April 2022.”

In our quest to prepare and equip our students with the maximum for the above please note the following:

• Students will have In-house 05(five) MCQ tests before attempting their live MCQ exams from the council in
November.
• We will take best of three marks into account while calculating the In-house mid-term average/ first pre-board
that will be held in the month of October.
• The second pre board examinations schedule and mode will be informed as and when we receive a clear
guideline about the second Semester Examinations from the council.
• Due to unforeseen reasons, if teacher-given marks are required, we will take the mid-term marks into
consideration for Semester One.
• In-house MCQ tests will begin from the 16th of August 2021 and each cycle will be for a week.
• Two MCQ tests will be held per day. Test one will be administered at 8am and Test two will be held at
2:40pm.
• All MCQ tests will have a time limit. Students will have to submit all evidences of their workings, rough work
etc. related to the MCQ tests to the subject teacher within 15 minutes of the MCQ test submission time in the
teacher’s whatsapp no. Any failure will automatically mean the day’s paper being cancelled.
• During MCQ tests cameras must be switched on. We encourage pupils to have two devices as this helps us
to quality assure the exam process better.
• During the MCQ tests days, teaching and learning will be imparted as usual. Those who do not attend the
normal classes will not be allowed to attempt the MCQ tests.
• Student’s viva voce may be taken on that very day if we have any doubt on the student’s performance in the
examination. Time will be notified by the subject teacher. Any failure to attend the viva voce means the day’s
paper being cancelled.

At present the council has not informed schools about the marking scheme or the type of questioning for the MCQ
examinations to be conducted in the month of November 2021. As and when we receive information from the CISCE,
we will be updating our parents and students.

Should you have any clarifications please feel free to write to me at principal.hld@agcschools.edu.in
Thank you for your cooperation always.
