LOOKING BACK
Are you familiar with zumba? Have you ever tried to attend any zumba sessions with
your friends and families? How did you feel about it? Do you enjoy that activity? In this
module, you will discover more about creative dancing!

BRIEF INTRODUCTION
In the previous lesson, you have already learned that dance is an activity where you
move your body in time with the music. Physical activities including dancing are necessary to
all ages. Different dance forms have evolved and developed over time.
Human beings have instinct to worship gods. Our ancestors found ways to worship their
gods by imitating the movements of nature like birds flying, trees swaying, wind blowing, rain
falling, and even the sun shining. They believed that by doing these moves, they would be
blessed. From imitating the nature's movements evolved creative dances.

Creative dance has branched out to the dances that we know today. The movements of
this dance illustrate animals and things around us. The aim of the dance performance is to
uplift an object of a region or place.

Creative dances originate ideas and artistic works. They also show your understanding
on a particular matter. You may interpret things based on the emotions you draw from it. You
may move in any way you want based on the flow of your chosen music. You may draw
story and meaning from the music played depending on the beat.
