Learning

The preparation and development of supplementary materials for senior high

school are extremely beneficial in the current situation of our country. Students will be
able to continue learning even in this New Normal situation by creating modules
supporting self-paced learning among students. Those learners who are unable to attend
normal face-to-face classes due to sickness, financial hardships, or internet
inaccessibility will also benefit from these SuppMats.

The Bureau of Learning Delivery-Teaching Learning Division (BLD-TLD)

conducted an Online National Workshop for SHS PRIMALS PLUS on the
Construction of Supplementary Learning Materials (SLMs) in Selected Learning Areas
last year of April to May 2020, under the Department of Education's mandate to
continuously provide quality, affordable, appropriate, and liberating basic education for
all Filipino children.

The said workshop was participated by different teacher-writers identified by

the respective Regional and Schools Division Offices from Region 1 to Caraga Region
under the memorandum from the office of Undersecretary of Curriculum and
Instruction, dated April 17, 2020.

The supplementary materials crafted by different writers last April to May 2020
on their online workshop were scheduled for the 1st Wave of Online Field Validation
from April 5 to May 26, 2021, following memorandum DM-CI- 2021-00-0079, dated
March 15, 2021. 
      The activity aims to validate the SHS supplementary materials in terms of format,
language, content, objectives alignment, presentation, and usefulness and utilize the
rule and results of the validation on the finalization of said materials before digitization
and facilitation to strategically help teachers assist the students in self-learning by
introducing content that will help them learn the desired skills and competencies align
in the K to 12 Curriculum.

  Fortunately, our Division was included in the said validation under the learning
area of Understanding Culture, Society, and Politics with module title “Social Life
and Rules Governing Human Behavior” that discourse the organized nature of social
life and the rules governing human behavior written by Mary Ann C. Tuazon, Teacher
III/ Senior High School Focal of Sta. Monica National High School under the
supervision and guidance of  Lorna A.Villacin-Ramos, Senior Education Program
Specialist of Bureau of Learning Delivery, Department of Education- Central Office. 

An official from our Regional Office, Regional Focal Person in Senior High
School, and Education Program Supervisor in Technical-Vocational-Livelihood, Sir
Reynaldo Castillo. Dignitaries from our Division Office, Dr. Zenia G. Mostoles,
Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Gregorio Quinto, Curriculum Implementation
Division Chief Director, Anastacia Victorino, Education Program Supervisor- Filipino,
Dr. Joel Vasallo, Division Focal Person in Senior High School and Education Program
Supervisor - Technical-Vocational-Livelihood, and Dr. Carlito G. Dela Cruz, Hagonoy
West District- Public Schools District Supervisor supported the event and some of them
participated as validators of the said supplementary materials.

Other members of the validation team were Marissa D. Hermogenes, Principal

III, Dr. Annie S. Rafols, Master Teacher II of Calumpit National High School, and
Heidee M. Marcelo, Teacher II of Jaime J. Vistan High School.

The activities during the pre-validation and validation proper were indeed
successful and everyone was positive that this activity would be done successfully up
until the post-validation and digitization proper through the support and involvement of
the school, parents, students, Schools Division Office of Bulacan, and the Department
