MODULE IV- ENGLISH GRADE 4

NSTP 2(LTS) DC-EG1

I. TITLE
Pronoun Lesson for Grade 4 students in BN Calara Elementary School, Los Banos

II. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the class, the Grade 4 students should be able to:
1. Identify five pronouns without error in the given sentences;
2. Use a pronoun correctly in a sentence; and
3. Enumerate at least two importance of using pronouns.

III. MATERIALS NEEDED


Manila paper, colored papers, activity sheets, permanent marker, empty box

IV. INTRODUCTION

Based on the pretest results, 44 out of 66 Grade 4 students of BN Calara did not get
the answer about pronoun correctly that’s why need supplement discussion about
pronouns. This will help them construct their ideas better and more efficiently in the
English language for they will avoid redundancy of using nouns alone.

VI. DISCUSSION INPUT

1. Activity 1:
The students will pair up (at least four pairs needed), and will stand at the
end of the room. The facilitators will flash manila paper strips with parts of the
story written on it, the pair of students will have to identify quickly the
pronouns, whoever answers correctly first will advance one step. The first pair
who reached the finish line wins. After the game, the facilitators will discuss
pronouns and their uses.

2. Activity 2:
In this activity, each student will randomly pick from a box papers with
sentences written on it. The sentences contain underlined nouns and they have
to identify which pronoun they can substitute it with.

3. Activity 3:
After all the discussions and activities about pronouns, a quiz will be
given to the students to test their knowledge.

VII. TASKING

There will be three facilitators who will handle the class. All of them will
introduce themselves to the students and be answering clarifications at the end of the
session. Each of them has individual tasks as well.

VIII. SYNTHESIS
After the class, students will be given a fifteen-item quiz covering the discussions
about pronouns. The first will be rewriting sentences and changing nouns into
pronouns. The second part will be encircling pronouns used in the sentences.

II. Encircle the pronouns used in the sentence.

2. Eight of us had to squeeze in the tiny car.
3. Every Thursday, Kenny goes to SM Calamba with his mom.
4. When the sun comes up, my dad leaves for work. He is very industrious.
5. I enjoy seeing them in the playground.
6. If I eat all these vegetables, will I be strong?
7. I bounced the ball and Jack ran after it.
8. It needs fresh coat of paint.
9. Mother will go to our parish church.
10. It is their right to go to school.
