Objectives: The learner will be able to identify and use Adverb of Manner in
meaningful sentences.

Activity:
The teacher will have a meta strips with sentences
and the adverbs of manner are underlined.

Introduction and The teacher will let the pupils read the sentences

Warm-Up and ask what are the underlined words.
1. I like costly bags.
2. I walk daily to school.
3. Mother walk rapidly so I can’t keep up.

The teacher will present a short story to class. She will


read it first, next let the learners read after her and last
the learners will read it on their own.

Summer Time

The farmers in Brgy. Coline work diligently.


They are being distracted by the extreme heat of the
sun. The ray of light shines sparklingly and is
blinding. It affects some peoples work. Nyumie’s
father stays unwillingly at home for she wants to go
out but it is too hot to go outside in fear of over
exposure to the radiation coming from the sunlight.
Their neighbors, on the other hand went excitedly on
the beach. Others are swimming leisurely and some
20 mins happily sip an ice cold drink. Summer is truly a

Ask the following questions:


1. How did the farmers in Brgy. Coline work?
2. How does the light shine?
3. How did Nyumie’s father reacted on staying at
home?
4. How did their neighbors went to the beach?
5. How do others swim? Sip their drinks?

Let the pupils write their answer on the board and


read it in chorus.
Explain that their answers are all adverb of manner. It
answers the question “How.”

Processing 5mins GAME: Race to the Top


(The class will be divided into 2 groups . They will try to
out do each other by raising their hands to see who will
answer and if it is correct they will take a step forward.
The first to score 3 points win
Read each sentence carefully and identify the Adverb of
