Dr. Jose Rizal and his work relates to Philippine nationalism.
Why? Because with the help of his pen and paper he was able to open
the minds of many people and became a vehicle to achieve freedom.
His work exposed the ills and abuse of the Spaniards, he corrected all
the misconceptions about Filipinos, and he fought for freedom till the
end. He didn't have to draw a sword to fight for the country, all he did
was to use his creative mind to open the eyes of the Filipinos. His love
for the Philippines was shown through his works which is why he
managed to touch the heart and opened the eyes of many Filipinos.
He even republished the work of Antonio de Morga's Sucesos de las
Islas Filipinas to learn more about the Philippines' past and change all
the inaccurate information about Filipinos-- he didn't want the
Filipinos to be known as indolent or lazy. Filipinos and With the help of
