NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE STATUS OF THE

SELECTED KEY AREAS NEEDED IN THE PREPARATION OF THE SCHOOL
LEARNING CONTINUITY PLAN (SLCP)

A learning continuity plan generally seeks to ensure that students’ learning progresses even
amidst disasters such as natural calamities, storms, fires, and pandemics. This plan overcomes
obstacles created by the disasters through innovative means of teaching and learning, keeping
students on track with their lessons. In any context, school leaders must find ways to simplify
the delivery of learning as well as those other services that support diverse learners, families
within the community, and district operations in a time of crisis.

Evidence-based plan always provides the right course for the school. With this, planning
takes its root from the different variables in school operation. Basis for the continuity plan
includes number of enrollment which includes the specific figures of transferred out and
transferred in students. Another basis is the kind and number of trainings attended by teachers.
School Performance Review summarizes the outcome of the implementation of the SLCP.

Enrolment figures as of School Year 2020-2021 did not reach its desired target of 5%
increase. In fact, it has decreased on the account of the ongoing pandemic where parents were
at a loss in the complete understanding of the mechanism of the learning modality- this and
coupled with their economic status and parent-work arrangement which left children with no
steady guardians to monitor their learning tasks engagement at home. On top of this is the
absence of gadget and poor/unstable internet connectivity.

Teachers, on the other hand, had attended webinars even before the opening of classes to
equip them with the essentials of the new normal education. Range of webinars include
curriculum, leadership, instruction, information and technology, and psychosocial capacity-
building.

School operation likewise included the wellbeing of teachers and pupils wherein the school
provided periodic supplies of COVID-19 essentials like alcohol, gloves ,hand sanitizers,
facemasks, face shields, and disinfectants. Alongside this are actual practice ( at home) and
orientations on Earthquake Drills, Plantitos/Plantitas at-home project, and the Kumustahan.

Difficulty in program and project implementations frequently challenged the school but
these were met with positivity and good leadership by the School Head and teachers, together
with the help of the other volunteers and stakeholders. Indeed, it “takes a whole village to
educate a child” is an adage that has been proven during the entire school year.
