RITUAL
Nover Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the 33rd Founding Anniversary of
the Department of Education, Cordillera Administrative Region with theme:
Jona “DepEd – CAR @ 33: Serving with Excellence amid the Pandemic.”

Jona Your hosts, for today’s special occasion.

Nover:
Jona: We would like to acknowledge the presence of our guests, colleagues and other
stakeholders who are here with us today online and onsite to celebrate our founding
anniversary.
Nover: The Cordilleras, having been known as a region rich in cultural traditions and
customs, imprinted in their bloods, prove worthy as a treasure and legacy to pass on
to its younger generations.
Jona: In DepEd – CAR, Regional Office, the educational leaders and its personnel are
grateful for more than three decades of abundant blessings from the Divine
Providence. Thus, a sign of thanksgiving and celebration, an offering through the
butchering of a pig shall be performed in the presence of an elder called
“mambunong” who will perform the native ritual.
Nover: DepEd – CAR is deeply honored for having Mr. _______ Tap-ayaw in leading this
native ritual.
Jona: Here, we are accompanied by our Regional Director, Dr. Estela L. Carino, our OIC-
Assistant Regional sir Florante E. Vergara, Regional Office Chiefs, Superintendents
and Assistant Superintendents from various Schools Division Offices.
Nover: This prestige celebration is symbolic of the DepEd-CAR’s gratitude to Kabunyan
and a prayer for more bountiful years of accomplishments and endeavors for the
learners.
PART II: Ornamental Tree Planting
Jona: With the treasures from the nature and the God-given natural resources, the
Cordilleras is truly blessed to have its caring people who have sustained, nurtured
and preserved its riches for the next generations.
Nover: As stewards for the protection of nature, the DepEd – CAR, Regional Office led by
Dr. Estela L. Carino together with our invited guests namely:
____________________, are renewing life back to nature through an Ornamental
Tree Planting in the Regional Office garden. These plants are ________________
that symbolize peace and prosperity amidst pandemic.
Jona: We thank our guests for their presence and continual support to the goals and
objectives of the department.
Nover: In the efforts of the DepEd – CAR Regional Office to embark to greater heights and
promote the value of education and instill the love of learning among the youth, as
well as to show our gratitude to our department for providing free basic education,
we are about to witness a masterpiece that remind us one of the reasons of our
loyalty – THE I LOVE DEPED – CAR marker. BOTH
Jona: This marker is installed as DepEd – CAR’s gesture of love for the Cordillera
learners. May it serve as a reminder and inspiration to all DepEd- CAR
personnel, teachers and administrators to continuously promote and protect the
right of every cordillera child, to provide quality, equitable, culture-based and
complete basic education that will enable them to become the envisioned Filipinos
who passionately love their country and who will contribute meaningfully to
building the nation.
Nover: Together with us are our Regional Director Dr. Estela L. Carino, Sir Florante E.
Vergara and our guests namely: ________________________ who are now
unveiling the marker located at the façade of the Regional Office.

Jona: We would like to thank our stakeholders who joined us in unveiling the marker and
showing priceless support to the department. Also, this project would not have been
possible without the concerted effort of the Regional Team spearheaded by Engr.
Christopher Hadsan.
AFTER UNVEILING
Nover: At this point, may we invite everyone to join us for our Mass to be held at the
Covered Court. Again, may we remind everyone who will be attending onsite to
strictly observed health protocols for everyone’s safety.

We cordially request our guests and visitors to observe the following HOUSE

1. For personal necessities, please use our comfort rooms responsibly. You
may use our comfort rooms located behind this stage, at the Main
Building or at the Canteen.
2. Please observe social distancing and wear your face mask properly at all
times.
3. Foods for snacks and lunch will be served at your respective seats.
Please minimize movement.
4. For health-related emergency cases, please approach our Emergency
Response Team headed by Doctor Angeline Calatan. Our doctor is
always on-call at all times.
5. For any concerns, please approach any of the Ushers headed by Ma’am
Georgina Ducayso.
6. We will also be using the Entrance and Exit parts of the stage as we
move on with our program. Please use these designated points in coming
up and going the stage later on.

Nover Let us all stand for the singing of our National Anthem, to be followed by a Prayer
and the singing of the Cordillera Hymn to be led by DepEd - CAR Regional Office
Choir.

Jona: May we invite our OIC – Assistant Regional Director sir Florante E. Vergara, to
give us the Welcome and Opening Remarks.
Nover: Thank you sir. What about a round of applause for our ARD. Now, let’s have sir
Edgardo T. Alos, our Chief Administrative Officer for the Reading of the History of
the DepEd – CAR.

Nover: To break the ice, let’s listen to a song to be rendered by the Quality Assurance
Division. Let’s give them big hands.
Jona: Thank you for the sound of music. Now, we are honored to have our guests
including the municipal officials in the Province of Benguet. May we invite
Honorable Romeo K. Salda, the Municipal Mayor of La Trinidad to give us a
message.
Nover: Thank you very much Honorable Mayor for such uplifting words for DepEd - CAR.
We are also honored to listen to Honorable Melchor D. Diclas, our very own
Provincial Governor of Benguet. Let’s all give him a round of applause.
Jona: Thank you Governor. Again, such a great honor to have you on this special
occasion. To give us another entertainment, let’s all put our hands together for the
Select RO Personnel as they perform a dance drama.

Nover: Thank you RO Personnel. At this moment, we are privileged to listen to our very
own Honorable Eric Go Yap, our Legislative Caretaker of Benguet. Let’s give him a

Jona: We are also deeply blessed to have our Former Regional Directors who have left a
lasting legacy to the region. May we invite Dr. Ellen B. Donato, representing the
group of former directors, to give us a message. Let’s show our resounding
appreciation through a clap.

Jona: Thank you and we hope you liked our simple present. Now, let me call on our
Regional Director Dr. Estela Carino, to introduce our Keynote Speaker for today.

Thank you so much Undersecretary for our privilege having you as our speaker.

At this point, let’s again be entertained with the Sarong ang Tayaw, an ethnic
presentation to be led by our very own, Governor Melchor Diclas and Dr. Estela
Carino together with Honorable Congressman Eric Yap and Former Regional
Directors.
Jona: Thank you very much. We would like to call Atty. Marilyn E. Taldo , the Regional
Director of Civil Service Commission – CAR, ably represented by Ms. Josephine S.
Tamondong, OIC – Director II, CSC Benguet Field Office, for the awarding of the
PRIME HRM Bronze Award. May we also call Dr. Carino and sir Vergara to

receive the award on behalf of DepEd – CAR family.

Read the rationale behind Prime HRM:

Under the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence on Human


Resource Management (PRIME), the DepED – CAR has been recognized by the
Civil Service Commission on September 25, 2019 for meeting the Maturity Level 2
indicators for the four (4) Human Resource Systems.

On March 1, 2021, this Office received a communication from Atty. Marilyn E.


Taldo, Director IV of the Civil Service Commission – CAR, informing us of the
Resolution issued by the Civil Service Commission conferring the PRIME –HRM
Bronze Award to DepEd-CAR.

Nover: (To express our gratitude, may ask our Regional Director to give us a message. –
AUTOMATIC na)

Thank you so much for the recognition bestowed upon us by the Civil Service
Commission.

At this point, may we invite Director Arnel B. Garcia, the Regional Director DSWD
– CAR for the turn-over of donations consisting of 61 tablets and 81 cellular phones.
To receive these donations, may we invite our Regional Director and Assistant
Regional Director. We also request the Schools Division Superintendent of Benguet
Division, Gloria Buya-ao to come on stage. Benguet Division is the Pilot Division of
the Salaknib tan Namnama Project having three recipient schools such as Puguis
Elementary School, Benguet National High School Main and Buguias National
School with a total of 63 learner-beneficiaries.

In fulfillment of DepEd’s Vision, Mission, goals and agenda 3 of the Ten-point


Agenda of Secretary Leonor M. Briones, stated as: “We will –continue the efforts
to get our school-age learn to school, and to keep in school up to completion of
basic education,” the Department of Education-CAR initiates Project “Salaknib
Tan Namnama”.

The Salaknib Tan Namnama was conceptualized to raise hope and restore self-
worth among learners of the vulnerable group. The phrase come from the Ibaloi
terms which connote “Protecting and Giving Hope”. The goal of this program is
to facilitate provision of support to learners in marginalized, hard-to-reach, and
vulnerable situations so they are kept in school until they complete basic
education.

Jona: To formally end this program, let me call on Atty. Sebastian G. Tayaban, the Chief
Administrative Officer of Finance to give a closing remarks.

Loving God, bless all those gathered here today as we come together in friendship
and fellowship. Thank you for the blessings of our individual and collective God-

given gifts. Place in our hearts the desire to make a difference to our families, to our
community, to our country, and to the many cultures and peoples worldwide. Give
us balance in times of distraction and uncertainty. Help us move towards our goals
with determination and always with an abundant sense of humor. Thank you for
food in a world where many know only hunger; For our faith in a world where
many know fear; For friends in a world where many know only loneliness. Please
bless this food we are about to share, those who prepared it, those who serve it, and
those who have worked to make today the special occasion that it is.
