CHAPTER 2 LESSON 2

MAKE CONNECTIONS
If you could go back in time, what time and place would you visit?
Why?
I would visit the precolonial period of our beloved country Philippines because I,
myself want to learn our original literary traditions before the Spaniards came. I
know in my heart and mind that Filipinos are naturally creative and
knowledgeable even before our country was colonized and influenced
thoroughly. I wish to witness it myself for it makes me feel proud of being a
Filipino.

2. After looking into the events that shaped Philippine literary landscape, we
may find that we have become a society of various or heterogeneous traditions.
Is this an advantage or disadvantage? Explain your answer.

In my opinion, living in a society with various or heterogeneous traditions

gives us an advantage in which it enable us to experience and be
knowledgeable of other traditions. However, a variety of traditions could
also be a disadvantage for it is inevitable that one tradition might act
more superior than the other thus creating a division in society and
weakens our unity as a whole country.
