METHOD STATEMENT FOR MIVAN FORMWORK

SITE:

TASK: MIVAN ERECTION & POURING OF CONCRETE

LOCATION:

MANPOWER: Qualified Engineers, Supervisors & Labours.

PLANT & MACHINERY

 1) Concreting pump,
2) Vibrating Machine
3) Tower Crane
4) Hand Tools
5) Scaffold.

PPE’s:

Safety Helmet, Safety Shoes, Reflective Jackets, PVC gloves, Goggles, Ear Plug, Full Body Safety Harness.

4) Working with concrete
5) Working at Height.

METHOD OF HOW THE WORK IS TO BE CARRIED OUT

1) Receipt of equipments on site

Unload the components from the transport and stack by code and size.
Stacking height must not be more than 5 ft.
Accessories such as pins, wedges, wall ties, bolts hexagon nuts, 16mm flat washers, PVC cones, sleeves and special tools to be put into
proper storage.
2) Level Survey
3 nos. of survey must carried out for the operation of the formwork.
a) Concrete level survey
b) Kicker level survey
 c) Deviation survey

3) Setting out
Only approved drawing to be used for setting out.

4) Control & Correcting of deviation

Deviation and kicker level survey for any corrective action.

5) Fix Reinforcement
Reinforcement will be fix as per BBS.

6) Erect Scaffold
Scaffold will be erected to aid the fixers at high level. Scaffold will be ridged board and tube scaffold.

7) Erect Formwork
First, one side is erected using only on upper and lower pins and wedge connection. Later ties are inserted at the other connection and
fixed with pins and wedge. Then the previously installed pins are removed and those ties inserted and pinned. Subsequently, panels for
the other side are inserted between the existing tie and fixed with pins and wedges. The formwork will be aligned with suitable
adjustable props.

8) Pour Concrete
For column- The concrete will be poured from the mixer into a concrete bucket. The tower-crane will lift the bucket with the concrete
over the shutters. The concrete will be released into the shutters. The concrete will be vibrated as work proceed.
For Slab- The concrete will be poured from the mixer into the concrete pump. Concrete will be pumped through the pipe line on to the
slab. The concrete will be vibrated as work proceed.
9) Strip Form
Striking will take place when the concrete is suitably cured. The shutters will be then de-shuttered and cleaned with scrapers and wire
brushes and moved into the next position as above.

This is a rolling sequence.

Control:

1) The work must be done under complete supervision.

2) Only experienced operatives will operate the plant and machinery.
3) Only authorized drivers will be permitted to drive any vehicles.
4) The scaffolding will be erected by the experienced workers.
5) Workplace must be kept free from tripping hazards.
6) The ladders is to be footed and used at the correct angle.
