Physical activity and exercise can be effective treatment strategies for

symptoms of both depression and anxiety. Each day is a new opportunity to

engage in physical activity and exercise that can bring short and long-term

benefits for mood, sleep, and physical health. Consistency and sustained

motivation may be enhanced by peer support, family support, or electronic

platforms offering exercise programs. The benefits of physical activity and

exercise have been demonstrated across the lifespan. Especially, in this time of

pandemic. Our body is meant to move, and many the body’s systems work

better when we are consistently physically active. People are probably

experiencing additional stress related to the growth of the COVID-19 pandemic

and its potential to threaten the health of ourselves, families, and our

communities. Considering using physical activity and exercise as a strategy to

maintain health during this stressful period.

Although many things feel beyond our control right now, I strongly

believe that we do have the ability to be creative and to build physical activity

and exercise into each of our days; like engaging in physical activity through

online class, Arnis is a type of Physical Activity that can be utilized and

contributes with the well-being of one. We may even look back on this difficult

time as the turning point when we learned new ways to build our emotional

resilience and our physical health through virtual; believing that this is the

new normal and looking at it in a physical manner.

Martial arts; Arnis provide several excellent health benefits, in addition to

instilling discipline and confidence within students. Through improving one’s

skills during practice, a student of martial arts will also be able to build a

healthier body. (1) It improves Cardiovascular health Especially during

training, drills can really help ramp up one’s heart rate, helping you build

cardiovascular endurance and increasing the positive impact of your aerobic

exercise. (2) it also helps to improve your muscle tone. Arnis can increase

muscle mass and help them become more toned overall. (3) It can also improve

your Reflexes Whether it’s sparring or fighting in a competition, blocking, and

dodging the attacks of your opponent. And more importantly, (4) Several

studies have shown that exercise can help improve your mental health. With

this kind of physical activity, it is proven to somehow release the tension the

body stored in.
