Project Objective
Construction of wide picket fence spanning 50ft, replacing existing fence not to exceed $600.
Justification
Existing fence shows wood rot at base, top, and around assembly points. Brittle pickets are

also making for easy access for animals and pets to pass through. Fence is also considered an

eye sore by client.


Deliverables
1. 8ft wood fence panels made of 2x4 runners, 6in wide 7ft tall pickets, constructed with

screws, metal posts set in concrete, and metal post assemblies.

2. Disassemble existing fence, disposal of existing materials, and ridding yard of all metal

and wood fragments.


Milestones
2021-03-15 Material must be acquired and delivered
2021-03-15 Existing fence must be disassembled and disposed
2021-03-15 New Posts must be placed in concrete to allow for curing
2021-03-19 New fence and punch list must be completed
Requirements
1. Fence pickets must consist of straight lines vertically and horizontally

2. Fence line must occupy existing fence line

3. 3 – 2x4 runners per 8ft run, fixed to metal poles with metal assemblies

4. Pickets must be fixed to 2x4 runners with screws in three different locations vertically

and have 2 screws (no more than 3) per location

5. All wood material must be made from cedar

6. The fence must be sealed with seal rated for outdoor and location climate

7. Must meet all city requirements and all required permits must be obtained

8. Entire project must be approved by owner and local inspector by completed date
Assumptions and Constraints
● If adequate material for constructions can not be obtained, equal or similar material

may be substituted and approved by owner only

● Cure time for posts must follow manufacturer’s recommendations. If weather will

affect cure time, owner must be notified, and schedule updated if required.

● Contractor must consider season in the acquisition of material and cure time

● Open excavation must be filled and/or covered during time of non-supervision

● All sharp points and hazards must be flagged and/or covered during time of non-

supervision

● All unforeseen events that will negatively impact project or schedule must be taken to

owner leaving adequate time for solutions.

● Punch list must be done leaving ample time to complete project by scheduled date

● All questions and/or issues must be cleared by owner
