SketchUp Activity 7

Shortcuts to remember:
Rectangle - R Key Push/Pull - P Key
Line - L Key Offset - F Key
Circle - C Key Eraser - E Key
Scale - S Key Paint Bucket - B Key
Selection Tool - Space Bar

Things to ALWAYS DO FIRST:


1. Open SketchUp. If Necessary click Start Using SketchUp. Remember to click on the person and hit the delete
key.
2. Save File: Hold down Ctrl + S Key. Make sure to double click the Computer Icon on the Left. Next, double click
the USB20 (F:) Drive Icon. Next, double click your class period, and repeat for your personal folder. Once in your
personal folder Type: SketchUp Activity 7 next to File Name. Finally click Save Button.
Practice:
1. Draw a 90,90 square. Pull the Square up 10 Enter. Orbit to bottom of the shape and make a 2 inch offset on the
inside of that face.
2. Using the Rectangle Tool you will make 3,3 Squares on each corner going towards the middle of the rectangle.
3. Erase the four lines that run between the four squares you just made. Push the middle down 8 enter.
4. Orbit back around to the top of your drawing. From one corner draw a rectangle 90,4. Pull that rectangle up 30
enter.
5. On the big part of your bed make an inside offset of 1 enter. Then pull the big part of the offset up 10 enter.
6. Next object make a rectangle 60,30 enter. Pull the Rectangle up 30 enter.
7. On the top of the rectangular cube make and offset to the OUTSIDE 1 enter. Pull the offset up 2 enter, and then
pull the middle up 2 enter. Erase the rectangle offset on the inside.
8. Draw a line from the bottom mid-point up 30 enter. Draw line from the left mid-point to the opposite side.
9. Draw a line from the new mid-point above your last line from the left to the right. You should now have 6
rectangles on your dresser.
10. On each of the 6 rectangles make an INSIDE offset 3 enter. Then push the inside of the offset in 1 enter.
11. Next object make a rectangle 24,24 enter. Pull the Rectangle up 30 enter.
12. On the top of the rectangular cube make and offset to the OUTSIDE 1 enter. Pull the offset up 2 enter, and then
pull the middle up 2 enter. Erase the rectangle offset on the inside.
13. Draw line on the front from the left mid-point to the opposite side.
14. Draw a line from the new mid-point above your last line from the left to the right. You should now have 3
rectangles on your end table.
15. On each of the 3 rectangles make an INSIDE offset 3 enter. Then push the inside of the offset in 1 enter.
16. Color all of you objects. Be Creative. Make a Shadow Room 16’,16’.
