VIRTUAMURALS 2021 Accomplished
The Senior High School Governing Link:
Council (SSGC) of the University of Science
and Technology of Southern Philippines https://bit.ly/
(USTP) conducted the first-ever Virtuamurals2
"Virtuamurals", Virtual Intramurals with the 021
theme: Honoring individuality and establishing
relationships to strengthen camaraderie from a
distance. The said event was held from April 19
– 24, 2021 in partnership with the Supreme
Student Government (SSG) of Gusa
Regional Science High School – X (GRSHS –
X).

This was a six-day event that let the students

from both schools connect online. Events such
as Online Challenges, Team Games (Valorant,
MLBB, CODM, Kahoot), etc. helped the
students strengthen their teamwork, and
showcase their talents and skills. The following
are the individual competition of the week-long
event.

Grand Opening Ceremony

Two prestigious schools were able to

partner and create a virtual event for the
students. Last April 19, 2021, the Grand
Opening Ceremony was the pathway of the
hosts to officially open the Virtuamurals 2021.
And thus, building rapport and showcasing the
individual talents of the students officially
started!

Debattle

The Debattle Finals Competition

successfully took place last Saturday, April 24,
2021, from 10:30-11:30 AM on the Official
Senior high School Governing Council’s page
through Facebook Live. There was a school-
based elimination round where one participant
from each section competed against the other
teams and the winner in both academic
institutions represented their respective schools
during the Final Face-Off. Simultaneous
school-based elimination took place last April
19, 2021, from 1:30 – 3:30 PM in Discord. Mr.
Janriz Matthew Libres from empire Sagacious
represented GRSHS-X and Mr. Rave Arao
from Empire excellence represented USTP and
was also declared champion on the Final face-
off.

Live Talent Show

The Live Talent Show Competition

successfully commenced through Facebook
live on the official Senior High School
Governing Council’s page on the 4th day of the
Virtuamurals, April 22, 2021, from 7:30-8:00
PM. The said event was be pre-recorded talent
entries of the students that have been shown
live. The talents are not only limited to singing
and dancing, acts that are entertaining and
viewer-sensitive at the same time that brings
the talents of the individual are accepted. The
GHX was declared Champion for this year's
Live talent Show as they stand out among all
other contestants.

Interschool Forum

Last April 20, 2021, the first-ever Virtual

Benchmarking Live of the SSGC USTP
occurred, still in partnership with the SSG
GRSHS-X. Mr. Jey Mart Cuyag, the former
Internal Vice President of SSGC before, and
Ms. Angel Ampo, the former President of SSG
GRSHS-X. The student leaders were able to
pick up lessons from the speakers as they share
their individual experiences during their time
as student leaders in their Senior High School
Years. The event was very fruitful as the
students from USTP and GRSHS-X were able
to interact with the speakers and their
concerns/questions were answered.

Call of Duty Mobile

Call of Duty Mobile was one of the awaited

team games among the four as the team
members came from different empires to clash,
communicate, and fight for the best.
Elimination rounds occurred last April 20,
2021, in the afternoon, having the Alpha
represent USTP and SATO represent GRSHS-
X. The Live Finals was last Friday, April 23,
2021, live on Senior High School Governing
Council – USTP CDO Official Facebook Page.
The live gathered at least 90 viewers and
witnessed as SATO wins the tournament.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Aside from CODM, Mobile Legends: Bang

Bang was also one of the awaited team games
that showcase the different strategies and
teamwork of different empires. Elimination
rounds happened simultaneously with the Call
of Duty Mobile and Valorant games. After the
elimination round, Empathy from USTP and
Sagacious from GRSHS-X advanced to finals.
During the Live Finals last April 23, 2021, at
least 100 viewers witnessed how Sagacious
won the tournament.

Valorant

Valorant Tournament Virtuamurals 2021

had a close fight, though there were technical
issues with the players. The team members
came from different empires but in the same
school or institution. After the elimination
rounds, last April 20, 2021, LohTangGods
(LTG) from USTP and 2w1ce from GRSHS-X
advanced for the finals. Even though there were
power and internet interruptions, both teams
still put up a good fight despite the 4 vs 5
situations, 4 players from LTG. Everyone was
commended with their enthusiasm to accept the
challenge.

Kahoot

Kahoot Virtuamurals 2021 was an event

wherein three students from each empire
participates as a team in a Quiz Bee-Like game.
The questions were all about Cagayan de Oro
City, giving the students a chance to know our
local history. It was also another way to let the
students communicate well with each other and
work on their teamwork. The event ended with
having Gallant, Xenial, and Excellence as the
Top 3 accordingly.

Spelling Bee

Spelling Bee was aiming to harness and test

the knowledge of the USTP and GRSHS-X
SHS students in terms of the proper spelling of
words. Last April 21, 2021, two representatives
from each empire clashed to see who is the best
in spelling. It was an individual competition,
thus, two representatives were not teammates.
However, despite representing Excellence
alone, since the other one was not able to
participate, she was able to reign and grabbed
the victory for her empire.

Blitz Chess

Blitz Chess was a casual game of chess

where both players have only a total of 5
minutes to play. This was more of speed chess
than the typical chess gameplay. One
participant per empire became the mastermind
of their gameplays trying to win. During the
finals, Mr. Kahlil Yagao and Ms. Lynn
Maureal had their face-off. But in the end, only
the Queen from Excellence reigned.

Creative Cosplay

The Creative Cosplay Competition

participants’ entries were posted last April 22,
2021, at 07:30 PM on the official Facebook
Page of the Senior High School Governing
Council. This event brought color and vibes to
entertain us with the beauty of cosplaying.
Each of the entries showcased the creativity of
the students from each empire in terms of
dressing up. 15% of the votes came from the
audiences’ preference through reacting to the
picture. Ms. Lucille Therese Amora was

declared champion as she gained the most likes

or reactions, combined with the judges’ score.
She cosplayed butterflies because according to
her, “Its process of transformation from one
state to another is never an easy process. It
takes time, but when it transforms, it is very
attractive and beautiful for everyone to see. ”.

Go Where Your Art Beats

The Go Where your Art Beats posting of

submitted entries happened last April 23, 2021,
at 07:00 PM on the Official Senior high School
Governing Council’s page. Together with this
is the opening of online voting which 50% of
the overall score. The art must be concerning
the Virtuamurals 2021 Theme: “Honoring
individuality and establishing relationships to
strengthen camaraderie from a distance”. Mr.
Clint Matthew F. Verson from empire Halcyon
of GRSHS-X was the champion for this
competition as he visualized it well through his
artwork.

Online Challenges

Online Challenges is a one-day event

wherein the students were given different
challenges they can do at home. The challenges
were Dancing the Unity Dance, Bottle Flip, etc.

and USTP were able to connect with one
another, and some even found friends and had

time with them. Thus, building rapport was on

the line.

E-KNOWman

E-KNOWman was organized mainly by the

Federation of Accredited Extra-Curricular
Student Organizations (FAESO) last April 24,
2021, talked about “Building Connection”.
During the event, the students were most fond
of Speed Dating wherein everyone was given
at least 1 minute to talk with someone before
the partner shuffles. E-KNOWman was not a
seminar, but more of a gathering hour of the
Virtuamurals 2021 Committee and all of the
students to have fun, relax and get to know
more each other.

Closing Ceremony

The Closing Ceremony happened last April

24, 2021, during the Fifth Episode of E-Balita
to recognize and appreciate all of the sponsors,
and the winners during the Virtuamurals 2021
in different events. With this, we were able to
give recognition to the individual talents and
skills of our Spartans and Regionalistas. And
during this, the Virtuamurals 2021 was
officially concluded.
