Research Essay Activity

I. Create a narrative or essay about the importance of research on our daily lives, as well as
the ethics of research:

A. The importance of research on the daily lives of people, especially students, is treated as
an understatement at the least. People have underestimated how important research actually is. In
truth, Research has managed to contribute immensely in solving the problems and issues or any
concerns of a community, country and even globally. Through research, we are able to critically
assess, evaluate and solve with a solution that will prove to provide an evidence-based answer to
any given question or concern. These reasons are why research has helped academic students and
provided them the resources and opportunity to contribute well in their academic and national
situations at hand. Research also plays a crucial role in discovering new treatments for unsolved
diseases or deficiencies.

Since research is a thorough investigation of a subject, we frequently may use it for our
everyday problems as well. We start by asking ourselves what is the question at hand. After
assessing what is the problem, we then proceed to analyze and find out a way to solve said
problem. It allows us to find the answer and explanation to certain questions we may ask. Not
only this, research helps develop the minds of students to think efficiently and effectively.
Research is a great method of learning about a specific situation or subject. It can be used to
further explore or prove theories, especially in the abstract sense. Of course research has not only
affected students, but to those who work in businesses. Research helps an individual succeed in
business like helping them know what products would they like to develop to sell to customers
who are willing to buy it. Research is very helpful in marketing, so businessmen make sure to
know how to write research with the goal of helping them and their businesses succeed and
prosper properly.

Various examples of how research affect people in their daily lives are as follows: Research
helps people who work in weather forecasts or meteorology, as they need research to get intel
and information to predict the path of storms or the like. This also applies the same to
volcanology, in predicting when a volcano will erupt or signs of possible eruption. Academic
students need research to be able to graduate in the program of their choice, especially liberal
arts or most business degrees. Medical students need research because if research has not been
done, discoveries for treatments would have not been possible. Business analysts require
research and incorporate it into their work everyday of their lives. Research has managed to
affect different and various people with various daily work routines.

Furthermore, ethics in research also play a crucial role in students and other people in
concern. Ethics in research is also important because these are the moral principles that are
implemented on the basis that the research will be done with no intention to harm or deceit
people who will be interviewed as participants of the study (Singh, 2019). These self-
implemented rules govern the expectations of our own as well as others' behavior. Example, in
order to convince a person to participate and act like participants for a study, we give them a
assurance that we will move on and continue with the study and the interview with a given set of
conditions, meant to inform the people participating to know what they are getting themselves
into. In conclusion, ethics in research may provide integrity to a study, as well as a reassured
mindset to whomever the study is fixated with.
