This essay is based on the relevant topic, because today, the world is getting more

and more digital. Online meetings are an inevitable part of the modern work place,
along with angry e-mails and smartphone notifications. Moving from the board room
to your own home doesn’t change the fact that they can be tedious and pointless,
instilling dread into anybody forced to attend. Nevertheless, having had such
experience, I can claim that I am not a big supporter of online meetings. In most
cases the quality is not very good because of poor internet connection. In addition to
those problems, we have been shown in the video, I can also mention the following:
overlapping chatter, interruptions.
Speaking about online meetings, it is worth to discuss some annoying habits as well.
One of the things that makes me angry is bad sound quality, especially when there are
many people joined in. Often it is difficult to understand what someone is talking
about because of some nonverbal cues.
In comparison with face-to-face meetings, these are not so effective. Virtual meetings
are great but it is still necessary to meet face to face. We understand that working
from home is the new way to work, but sometimes online meeting is not as beneficial
as personal one. There are several reasons why we still need face-to-face
communication. For instance, personal meetings prove that you are dedicated and
want to listen and build a relationship with your clients, customers, staff. Moreover,
personal meeting is considered to be more focused and productive.
The most important aspect of video conferencing is a stable as well as fast internet
connectivity. Once the connection is slow, it will affect the conference adversely with
visual disruptions and inconsistent audio.
To sum up, nowadays digital is managing the world, but it is not always good and we
should not forget about live communication!
