3 1. INTRODUCTION
4 This datasheet defines the requirements for the Well Site Chemical Injection Package for the HBR project.
5 The HBR facilities are a 'greenfield' desert site in Algeria.
6
7
8 2. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
9 The Hassi Bir Rekaiz (HBR) is located in the Algerian Sahara, approximately 129 km to the eastern of of the giant oilfield at Hassi Messaoud (HMD).
10 The Hassi Bir Rekaiz development project is an upstream project which Phase 1 development consisting of Well Sites (WS),
11 Gathering Stations (GS) and a Gathering Hub (GH) with multiphase flow to Rhourde El Baguel (REB) via pipeline. In Phase 2, the additional facilities,
12 pipelines and related infrastructure will be installed in accordance with full field development plan.

29 3. PORTABLE METHANOL INJECTION PACKAGE FOR WELLSITES
30 Hydrates are of particular concern to the operation of a hydrocarbon processing facility as they have the potential to cause blockage and
31 malfunction in the facilities resulting in loss of production.
32 This package is to provide methanol to be injected into a production well at startup to prevent hydrate and ice formation in the Oil Processing Facilities.

2 4. METHANOL INJECTION REQUIREMENTS
3 One portable skid vehicle-mounted methanol injection packages are required for 17 HBR Wells during Phase 1. As a minimum each package will consist of a storage vessel,
2x 100% Positive Displacement pumps (duty/standby), an injection rate control device, flexible hoses/piping and instrumentation mounted on the skid. Methanol will be
4 pumped from the storage vessel to injection points on the wellheads via the flowlines. The storage vessel is to be blanketed to prevent vacuum with nitrogen cylinders supplied
5 from cylinders (supplied by others) to be mounted on the skid. Each package and associated pumps will be controlled within the package.

6
7 Note that the Package will be mounted on a trailer or arcticulated vehicle and will include flexible hoses suitable for high pressures for injection point hook-up as well as a
8 nitrogen rack for the N2 cylinders.
9
10 It is expected that methanol will be injected during Start-up for a period of up to 1 to 2 hours per well. Start up and Shutdown operational procedures shall be defined during
11 detailed design by EPC contractor.

2 5.0 NOTES
3 The general requirements for the Wellsite Portable Methanol Injection Package are as follows:
4
5 1 Specified value is an estimated power consumption for each pump. Vendor to offer electric driven chemical injection pumps. Electric power
6 supply for the methanol injection pump to be supplied

7
8 2 Pump may be required to continue to operate with no net forward flow for an extended period. Vendor to provide control / relief device to
9 allow pump to operate without damage.
10
11 3 Pump internal relief valves are not acceptable but may be provided in addition to external discharge relief device.
12
13 4 Package shall be mounted on a structural steel skid (painted) with drip pan and drain connection. Skid drains shall be
14 routed (by others) to the wellsite drains system or skid drain collection bund using temporary piping or hoses. To be confirmed by
15 EPC contractor.
16
17 5 All materials of construction for equipment i.e. storage vessel, piping , valves, to be of Stainless Steel.
18
19 6 Vendor to size and provide pressure relief valve on storage vessel to vent to atmosphere at safe location away from personnel access.
20
21 7 Vendor to provide instrumentation/piping for N2 blanketing and rack for N2 cylinders storage (Cylinders supplied by others).
22
23 8 Pump relief valve discharge to be routed to storage vessel
24
25 9 Storage vessel capacity to be confirmed by EPC contractor.
26
27 10 Storage capacity is based on 2 hours operation per well and designed for 1 well per skid.
