Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
A. Learning Activities

“Good morning Class” “Good morning Teacher!”

“Let us pray first…” (One student will lead the

prayer)

(Checking of Attendance) (Students will tell who’s absent

“Say present when your name is called” for the day)

“So how’s your day? Is it good so far?”

“It was great, Teacher!”
“That’s good to know. So today we will
discuss our new topic. But before we proceed
to our new discussion, anyone from the class
who can review our previous lesson last
Monday?”
(Students raising hands)

“Okay (student’s name)”

“Our previous discussion was all about
two and three dimensional art”

“Very good. Last Monday, we discuss about

dimensional arts. So anyone from this group
who can differentiate two and three (Students raising hands)
dimensional art?”

“Yes (student’s name)”

“Two dimensional art includes only the
length and width of a flat object such as a
drawing, print, or painting while three
dimensional art includes the length, width,
and depth of an object such as a
structure, building, or sculpture”

“Very Good (student’s name)! So today, we (Students read the objectives)

will relate our previous topic to the new
lesson that we will discuss today. But before
that, please read our objectives…”

“These will be our objectives for today’s

lesson and I hope all of you will cooperate for
the smooth flow of our discussion”

B. Motivational Activity

“Before we start our discussion, let’s have an activity

first. To proceed in our first activity, let us divide you into
4 groups” “Okay, Teacher!”

“Kindly check at the back of your chairs… So, there is a

picture of an artwork. Have you notice?”

“Yes, Teacher”

“I’m going to give you 1 minute for you to find the similar
picture with your classmates. For those students who
got the matching pictures, that would be your
groupmates. Then form a circle without creating so
much noise. Right side would be Group 1 and at the
back of Group 1 is Group 2. Left side would be Group 3
and at the back of Group 3 is Group 4. Am I
understood?” “Yes Teacher!”

“Okay. 1 minute time starts now”

(Students find their groupmates and
“This activity is called 4 PICS 1 WORD. Through my create a circle)
PPT presentation, I will show you four pictures and all
you have to do students is to guess what the pictures
are all about. I will also provide clues. Please choose 1
member of your group to get the whiteboard and the (Chosen representative get the
felt-tip pen here” whiteboard and felt tip pens)

“I will only give you 10 seconds to answer and after that,

raise your boards. Just write your answers in all capital
letters. Do you understand?”

“Yes, Teacher”
“Are you ready class?”

(PPT PRESENTATION)

4 Pics 1 Word “Yes, Teacher”

1.

__N_

ANSWER: LINE
2.

_H__E_

ANSWER: SHAPES

3.

____R (Student will give their answers)

ANSWER: COLOR
“Very nice! I am very pleased you were able to guess
the correct words. Now let’s discuss your answers.
Anybody who can tell me what he/she notices with our
activity?”
C. Discussion
“Very good observation! Now, let me introduce you the (Student will volunteer to read the first
elements of art. Would someone read this sentence for sentence: Elements of Art; The elements
me?” of art are the building blocks used by
artists to create a work of art)

“So, in this sentence The elements of art are the

building blocks used by artists to create a work of art
means that these elements are use in making or
creating an art. Without these elements, the artist
cannot make an art piece. Why? Because those are the
needed things for the artist to draw, to sketch or to
paint.”

“These elements are the stylistic features that are

included within an art piece to help “Yes Teacher”
the artist communicate. Am I understood?”

(All girls will read: Line is a mark with

“Alright. Very good! So next slide, please read all girls” greater length than width. Lines can be
horizontal, vertical,or diagonal; straight or
curved; thick or thin.)

“Thank you girls. Most of us already encounter these

element, the line. Line is made of set of points. It is two
dimensional.

Can anyone draw here a horizontal line in the board?

“How about vertical line?”

(Student volunteer)
“What about straight line?”

“How about curved line?”

“You got it! Perfect! So these are what we called lines

and lines are what…?” (Student chorus)
“Examples of lines are… straight line…”
“Curved line, horizontal line, vertical line”

“Well done students! Very good!”

(All boys read:
“Okay. Please read the next slide, all boys”
Shape is a closed line.
Shapes can be geometric, like squares
and circles; or organic, like free-form or
natural shapes. Shapes are flat and can
express length and width.

“Thank you Boys. So shape is a flat, enclosed area of

an artwork created through lines, textures, colors or an
area enclosed by other shapes such as triangles,
circles, and squares. (show a pictures of different
shapes in PPT) so these are the shapes.

SHAPES:

(Students read the label of shapes)

“Please read…”
“Shapes are also used in arts. It can play important
roles in the creation of art. They help to create complex
drawings and paintings, affect composition, and
contribute to the balance within a work. Shape is a two-
dimensional area that is defined by a change in value or
some other form of contrast.

I’m going to show you some artworks that uses shapes

in their masterpiece”

“Wow…”
“In this example of geometric shapes in art, Picasso
uses circles, triangles, crescents, and rectangles.
Geometric shapes are precise areas that can be made
using a ruler or compass. These shapes can be simple
or complex and generally give an artwork a sense of
order. Understood?”

Okay Class. Any questions? Clarifications?”

“Yes Teacher”

(Students says no)/(students asks

questions)
D. GENERALIZATION
“Now, class, let us remember that these elements are
very important in Dimensional Arts because this can
help the artist communicate.
The elements of art are both fun and useful. Remember
line, shape and color. Knowing these elements will
allow you to analyze, appreciate, write and chat about
art, as well as being of help should you create art
yourself.

“So class, can you tell me again the main elements of (Students answer)
art?”
