REFLECTION PAPER

Instructions: Write in no less than 500 words what you think of the National Service Training that is mandated
by the RA 9163. Will it contribute to your better citizenship values? Will it just waste your time?
Will it enhance your leadership potentials?

“Title of Reflection”

To me, the National Service Training Program is a program aimed at enhancing civic consciousness
and defense preparedness in the youth, developing ethics of service and patriotism while undergoing
training in any of the program components. The purpose of this program is to recognize the Youth’s
vital role in nation-building, promote consciousness among youth and develop their physical, moral,
spiritual, intellectual and social well-being while undergoing Civic Welfare Training Service. This will
also enhance and build on current leadership abilities of the students at the same time.

National Service Training Program it is a preparation and opportunity to improve yourself to be of

service to others. It gives us the chance to be socially involved and have deeper awareness of ourselves
in relation to others. National Service Training Program endows us with theoretical and practical
knowledge and experiences that are needed for community service. It opens a window for us to see
the current situation of our community. At the same time, it trains us to respond to the present
challenges, enhancing out instinct for national service. These are the possible contribution to our better
citizenship values when we learn or when we study about National Service Training Program (NSTP).
Good Citizenship Value of LOVE, FREEDOM, PEACE, TRUST and JUSTICE. UNITY, EQUALITY,
RESPECT FOR LAWN AND GOVERNMENT, PATRIOTISM, COMMON GOOD and CONCERN FOR
THE ENVIRONMENT.
These good values shapes and guide or nation towards a better tomorrow. Live a life that is based on
good values and serve as an inspiration to others who struggle with their own of God. NSTP goals are
to makes us a person of worth and dignity in turn, so we should uphold and recognize others dignity as
person and grow to appreciate their worth by keeping an open mind and charitable attitude so you may
be able to appreciate others giftedness and special roles. Also we should not be advocate of violence
or any means that may harm the life and dignity of others. NSTP also will also teach us that, Life is
precious, it is our duty to, respect, protect, nurture, preserver the human life from the moment of its
conception. This are the role of the youth in nation-building.

National Service Training Program will teach us that, OUR role, therefore, in shaping the future of
our nation is truly significant. That we are a valuable constituent of our country. With all our potential,
idealism and energy, WE are capable of doing a lot of things for the good of others, to be of service to
OUR nation. WE can serve in a lot of ways. This is the concept that shaped the National Service
Training Program.
