In the case of the Philippines, how much do you think are we involved in the modern-world system?

What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of being a part of such?

Answer: Philippines are greatly involved in the modern-world system, in fact all countries are. We are
being analyzed as a third world country. Philippines are mainly dependent on other countries for its own
development, and have not yet sustainable proper economic stability in order to sustain proper
development in all sectors of its economy. The technology has reached the Philippines but has not been
totally implemented fully. As of now, the Philippines are considered as a periphery country. The
advantage of being part of modern-world system is that it shows the progress of our country as a whole,
it demonstrate our status as a contributor to the international economy, and core countries will be
willing to help us ascend to higher levels in the economy for the development of not only the country,
but also for the international economy. These are the disadvantage, it highlights our failures as country,
and thus decreases our reputation as a whole, our opinion will more or less likely be values in a lower
form than those of other countries, we are more likely to be manipulated by other countries with higher
power, and our dependency makes more prone to accepting manipulative deals. Those are the some of
the advantage and disadvantage of the Philippines as a periphery country.
