Solution:

Solution:
Given,
𝑉 = 208∠20°
𝑉 = 𝑉 ∠ + 120°
∴𝑉 = 𝑉 ∠ − 120°
𝑉 = 208∠120° + 20°
𝑉 = 208∠ − 120° + 20°
𝑉 = 208∠140° 𝑣 𝐴𝑛𝑠.

Solution:
(a) For ABC Sequence:
𝑉 = √3𝑉 ∠ + 30° 𝑉 = 𝑉 ∠ − 120° 𝑉 = 𝑉 ∠ + 120°

𝑉 = ∠ − 30° 𝑉 = 230 ∠ − 120° − 30° 𝑉 = 230 ∠ + 120° − 30°



𝑉 = 230∠ − 150° 𝑣 Ans. 𝑉 = 230∠ + 90° 𝑣 Ans.
𝑉 = 230∠ − 30° 𝑣 Ans.

(a) For ACB Sequence:


𝑉 = √3𝑉 ∠ − 30°
𝑉 = ∠ + 30°

𝑉 = 230∠ + 30° 𝑣 Ans.

Balanced Y-Y Connection; ABC sequence,

𝐼 = 6.81∠ − 21.8° 𝐴 Ans.

𝐼 = 𝐼 ∠ − 120° − 21.8°
𝐼 = 6.81∠ − 141.8° 𝐴 Ans.

A Y-connected balanced 3 phase generator with an impedance of 0.4+j0.3 ohm per phase is
connected to a Y-connected balanced load with impedance of 24+j19 ohm per phase. The line

Solution: (a) The line Voltages:

𝑉 = √3 × 120∠30° + 30°
𝑉 = 207.85∠60° 𝑣 Ans.

𝑉 =𝑉 ∠ − 120° 𝑉 =𝑉 ∠ + 120°
𝑉 = 207.85∠60° − 120° 𝑉 = 207.85∠120° + 60°
𝑉 = 207.85∠ − 60° 𝑣 Ans. 𝑉 = 207.85∠ + 180° 𝑣 Ans.

(b) The line currents.

−120∠30 + (0.4 + 𝑗0.3 + 0.6 + 𝑗0.7 + 24 + 𝑗19)𝐼 = 0

19 In a balanced Delta-Wye circuit, 𝑣 =240∠15 V and Zy= 12+j15 ohm. Calculate the line
currents.
Solution:
𝑉 =𝑉 = √3𝑉 ∠ + 30°
∴𝑉 = × 240∠15° − 30° = 138.56∠ − 15° 𝑣

A balanced Y-connected load with a phase resistance of 40 ohm and a reactance of 25 ohm is
