Activity # 2

1. Think of a development project for your Barangay. 

Conduct information education campaign specifically for children’s reading skill development

2. How are you going to implement, or assist to implement, it as a dev com

practitioner? 

On my own view, there is a need of assistance to the children in our barangay. Specifically,
teaching and educating them on the proper reading and understanding what they have read. I
cannot deny the fact that some other children are having hard times on answering their
modules because they do not understand what they are reading. I am saying this base on my
experience; I have a brother who will be grade 5 in this coming school year and last year he
does not learn so much because he is not able to understand the modules.

As a development communication practitioner it is my duty or responsibility to influence or

teach other people specially the children. In order to have a development on their education,
use communication as a tool to inform, educate, and give impact to other people. One of the
actions that I will be doing is to teach some children here on my barangay with the help of
some other youth here in my barangay. And I will be asking some assistance on our church to
give a specific activity for them.

3. What core values will be highlighted by the project?

The core values will be highlighted here is the PURPOSIVE and PROGMATIC because this
development plan is expecting to give impact, insights, and learning to the children and expect

to achieve the objective of the development plan and that is to give simple education to
children. 

4. What tool and/or strategy will you employ along each highlighted core values?

The possible tools or strategy will be used to employ the highlighted core values are:

We will be giving children the following materials…

- Booklets
- Reading books
- Printed coloring paper

5. What media product can you develop out of it?

The possible media product can be develop here in my development plan is video recording or
vlogs.
