To answer your question, the scenario cannot be done in one step. Please find detailed clarification in the
incident reply.
can you please confirm if any sap note or guide which confirms the same as u replied above
I will copy the question and answer into this chat session. Later, you can double check internally with your
colleague Sivaraj Bellie.
ok
Can we upgrade ECC5.0 to ERP 6.0 EHP7 directly with the existing OS/Hardware ? i.e (win-2003/sql-2005)
[answer]:
According to PAM, EHP7 for ERP 6.0 requires at least windows 2008/sql server 2008. Therefore, this
upgrade cannot be done with the existing OS/hardware.
Can we use DMO to do one step upgrade and migrate to HANA DB, from ECC 5.0 to ERP 6.0 EHP 7 with
HANA 2.0, according to note 2882431. Is it mandatory to use windows server for PAS after migration or can
we have all application running on Linux?
[answer]:
DMO with system move can be one of the option. However, the scenario cannot be done in one step.
Because according to the following restriction, we confirm the target PAS host must run on Windows OS.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SAP source systems runs on Windows OS: The target PAS host must run on Windows OS. If possible,
(that is, if it is supported according to PAM), you can consider the previously mentioned workaround where
you install in the source system an AAS running on Linux OS to enable the move to a target PAS host on
Linux.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The workaround mentioned above is not possible in your case. Since according to PAM, SAP ECC 5.0 on
MS SQL server does not support linux OS. Therefore, you cannot install AAS running on Linux OS on the
source system.
ok thanks
