 Tank filling schemes:
10 Tank filling Schemes amounting to Rs.375.29 Crores which
envisage filling up of 56 tanks & Kattes to provide drinking water
facility to 55 villages coming under Mysore, Hassan, Tumkur &
Mandya Districts are proposed to be taken up, out of which 5
schemes amounting to Rs.169.89 crores are under progress and
remaining 5 schemes amounting to Rs.205.40 crores are under
tender process.

 Canal Modernization:
Remodeling of Tumkur Branch Canal to a length of 96.54 Km
(From Ch.70.36 Km to 166.90 Km) amounting to Rs.546.41
Crores has taken up under Hemavathy Project and the work is
under progress

3) Brief History of the department:
 The Cauvery Neeravari Nigama Limited (CNNL) is established by
the Government of Karnataka in 03.06.2003 under Company Act
1956 as a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to accelerate the
implementation of Cauvery Basin Projects in Karnataka.

 Main Objectives of the CNNL are to complete, to maintain, operate,

improve or Modernize the ongoing Irrigation projects including Lift
Irrigation works, and such works of Minor Irrigation and CADA
(Command Area Development Authority) in Cauvery Basin
entrusted to it by the Government of Karnataka.
  In the jurisdiction of Cauvery Neeravri Nigama comprises 5 major
irrigation projects, 18 medium irrigation projects, 7 lift Irrigation
projects, 22 anecuts and 1627 minor irrigation tanks. Totally
15.55 lakh acres of atchkat has been created under irrigation
project.

 Further 78 tank filling schemes are taken up, out of which 71

schemes are under progress, 7 schemes are under approval stage.

 Restoration and rejuvenation of tanks, Modernization of centuries

old Anecut and anecut canals, construction of FIC’s, repair of
Aycut roads, tank filling schemes are being taken up.

 Command area canal works road improvements works are being

taken up under special development programme in backward
taluks as per Nanjundappa report.

 Under SCP/TSP individual bore wells community bore wells water

conservation works, approach roads, internal roads and drainage
works in SC / ST colonies are being taken up.
